The term anima/animus comes from the Latin terms for the male and female dual parts of the soul.

Your masc side (since you are a man) should be at least as strong as the fem side.

A good tool for this is your dreams.

And look at my dreams - for a whole month I've angry and flinging things around in sleep. My animus is in a bad mood. Having figured that out, I should sit down and write out why. And I can talk to him and ask what he wants. That's in your imagination of course but it works.

Do you want to start a Jungian thread? I'm no medic but I did 3 years of Jungian analysis.

Personally I find Jung himself easier to read than everybody that came after him.

Jung - masculine & feminine

i dreamt last night that i suddenly became the manager, or some other supervising person, of a small company with big hopes.
the entire operation was run in a room comparable to the size of my former high school art studio, storage, front desk, the whole thing. i always was a fan of miniatires in general, finding them aesthetically pleasing, this was good for me.

skip to a girl from, a class of mine....having problems with keeping her lunch down and her sanity intact whenever we are in the vicinity of a wooden bridge.

something about the arrangement of things in the bridge caused a gastric and mental upset. the mere existence of wooden bridges did not mesh with the way her body responded to stimuli.
we sorted it out, and even saying aloud the bridge measurements caused nausea.

it was determined the entire thing was a mind and existence control mechanism masterminded by a famous actor.

after drinking cranberry juice made by another, more benign actor, the symptoms went away.
