helicases are a class of enzymes vital to all living organisms. their main function is to unpackage an organism's genes. they are motor proteins that move directionally along a nucleic acid phosphodiester backbone, separating two annealed nucleic acid strands (i.e., DNA, RNA, or RNA-DNA hybrid) using energy derived from ATP hydrolysis. there are many helicases resulting from the great variety of processes in which strand separation must be catalyzed. approximately 1% of eukaryotic genes code for helicases. the human genome codes for 95 non-redundant helicases: 64 RNA helicases and 31 DNA helicases. many cellular processes, such as DNA replication, transcription, translation, recombination, DNA repair, and ribosome biogenesis involve the separation of nucleic acid strands that necessitates the use of helicases.

I like the "shape" of that image.

In my humble opinion, Socialism (particularly the notorious Venezuelan, Cuban Leninist Style); Communism, Neoliberal Globalization (Global Plutocratic Neo-feudalism & Corporatism) & Financial Capitalism (esp International Finance) are without a doubt the worst economic ideologies of all time.

Owls in cartoons and fantasy are usually shown as being wise, but in real life they aren't really that smart at all. The most intelligent of birds is believed to be the crow.

Sheep are also believed to be intelligent and almost as smart as pigs, in spite of their reputation for being dumb due to their flocking behavior.

computer generated images of complex organic molecules can be a joy to look at, especially when one knows what they represent, and can appreciate them for what they are.

in my case, that is a blatant truth.

In spite of its name, chickenpox does not affect chickens. However, chickens can get an illness called fowl pox.
How foul.

It's true that you believe that. Another Pareto Optimal distribution is to give one person everything except the minimum necessary for anyone else to survive.

I think it's stupid to cast a white person as Light. Light is 100% Japanese as far as I'm aware. However, I don't think it's the worst thing in the world (compared to Donald Trump? Really?).

At the same time, I'm also not complaining about casting a black person as L. L is canonically Russian, Italian or French, British and Japanese. His French and British sides could very well be black (so could his Russian and Italian or even Japanese sides but that's rather unlikely).

In my view Nail Bars are putrid, pungent, and foul smelling chemical warfare factories! Yuk! :eew:

The one I last walked past yesterday was so bad it induced an interim headache, so autism unfriendly.

Those inflatable drink holders that come shaped like doughnuts or pink flamingos make really cute little float rings for fashion dolls in the tub or pool. :)
