We now have a bag tax in Scotland. If you purchase anything [including a drive-thru meal] a charge is added for even a small paper bag.

My drawing of the Salesman is almost finished. I only have to draw his bell now.

I could dress up as the Salesman for the Halloween sixth form social. I don't know where I'd get the withered hands though, and I'm not sure how much to sell them for.

the parched santa ana winds are blowing and the tent i'm sitting is in creaking.

an enormous bug flew in the kitchen earlier. i don't know what happened to it, it disappeared the second i turned my back.

what's the point of the curtain by the doorway then?

Trombones & pianos are both musical instruments. Not as good. "Try harder!" (as The Crow says).

Well, I don't think I've perfected Kentucky Fried Chicken yet but IT IS the first time I've ever used 4 liters of canola oil and deep fried the pieces (drumsticks and Maryland pieces).
I had 4 drumsticks and 2 Maryland pieces.
I used Tandaco Southern Fried Chicken coating (available in Australia - don't know if it's available in other countries) to coat the 4 drumsticks but I wasn't sure how it would turn out because the packet doesn't say you can deep fry with it. It only says you can shallow fry and bake with it but deep frying turned out fine.

I used the Tandaco for the 4 drumsticks but for the 2 Maryland pieces, I coated them in a mixture of plain flour, monosodium glutamate, ground white pepper, ginger, cumin, garlic, tarragon, thyme, after soaking them in buttermilk for 3 hours. Then I deep fried them at 5 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius for 5 minutes and then turned them down to 150 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.

/* B E A U T I F U L */

The secret to cooking P E R F E C T chicken is in the brining process. Get a HUGE boiler that'll hold all of the chicken pieces you plan to fry. Use either water or chicken stock and put about 3/4 to 1 cup of salt to 4 liters of water. Mix with it some tarragon and thyme and heat the water so the herbs will release their flavor into the water. Let it cool DON'T PUT YOUR CHICKEN INTO IT UNTIL IT COOLS. Stick it in the fridge. Put your chicken into the COLD brining solution and stick it into the fridge for at least 4 hours. This brining process tenderizes it, kills germs and rids the pieces of blood.

IMPORTANT - dry the pieces before sticking them into 180 degrees hot oil. HOT OIL AND WATER CAN BURST INTO FLAMES.

Coat your chicken and deep fry it as mentioned above A N D you may not end up with KFC (although I think I'm getting rather close) but IT IS BEAUTIFUL!! !

Put your oven onto 90 degrees Celsius to keep the cooked pieces hot while you cook the rest of them.

DON'T fry more than 2 pieces at a time or else, it will drop the temp of your oil too low and it won't work.

I think that's it.

A N Y Q U E S T I O N S ? ? ?

Wow KyleTheGhost. You blew me out of the water with "and 2 men named Ryan playing Tennis"! How'd you think of that? Do you know of two men named Ryan playing tennis in real life? That's mad!

Oh, and by the way,

"Humans do have an amazing capacity for believing what they choose and excluding that which is painful."

I don't know what that has to do with our challenge but IT IS one of my fav Spock quotes that I quite often use in real life conversations with humans! :D :D :D
