I would be so devastated if you ate the cookies you baked for ME!! !!

I'd hit you with a wet noodle, then bake my own dungurn cookies!

Raleigh: Well...it's sort of for me...but it might end up being a 'sharing' present with someone else one day. :oops:

I think that in the USA, Cookies= Biscuits, and Biscuits=some sort of bread.

I'm in America. A biscuit in America is something which is salty (what I think the British call "savoury"), and which takes either butter or gravy.

A cookie is primarily the British biscuit.

The American biscuit is something somewhat akin to one side of a meat pie in British-influenced places.

I wonder where the name cookie came from?
I imagine someone saw a plate of biscuits and asked, "What are these?"
And someone replied, "I don't know. They're Cookies."
Meaning they were made by the cook.
Maybe I just have an active imagination.
