I found it funny that he shot the sheriff and not the deputy...I sort of liked that.

At least the boss got shot for a change.

I actually rationalized that he was released from jail (or allowed a day pass to record music), since he didn't kill the deputy.
I thought this even in High School.

It's amazing I wasn't diagnosed until I sought an assessment myself, in adulthood. WTF.

1. I didn't know Jimi Hendrix was black. I didn't know if he was white, either. I just thought he was Jimi Hendrix.

2. I found out he died by a poster placed at a store called McCrory's.

3. I went out to Strawberry Field when John Lennon was shot.

1. But he was just Jimi Hendrix. You're right. Colour doesn't matter (BTW "Crosstown Traffic" is one of my favourites)
2. Maybe a different place
3. I hope so.

So 2.

I guess they thought you were too smart to have autism.

Until 1994 or so, it just wasn't a "smart person's" diagnosis.

The lie is #3.

I was engrossed with the murder, kept my ear to the radio all through the coverage. I was about to turn 20 years old.

I liked Lennon.....but I thought he could be a jerk, too. I wasn't into paying "tribute" to people back then. I didn't understand why all those people stayed up all night for Lennon.

I thought Chapman was an idiot for using "Catcher in the Rye" as an excuse.

I used to like Deputy Droop-a-long much better than Sheriff "bing-bing-bing" Ricochet Rabbit.

It was the day my mother said I was useless as tits on a bull, to a room full of women.

It wasn't a good day.

Understatement. Tip of the iceberg.

1. I knew what reggae was when "Hold me tight" by Johnny Nash was popular in 1968.

2. I first heard and knew the word "reggae" around 1975, even though I had heard the song with "Reggae Woman" by Stevie Wonder the year before.

3. I really liked "Israelites" by Desmond Dekker and the Aces before I knew what reggae was.

I just heard Israelities about a month ago, for the first time.

1.

1. My brother and I each built our own play fort indoors His was three storeys tall (on shelving), with carpet and strobe lights and trap doors. Mine was a big room made of bed sheets hung from the ceiling. I went in my brother's fort but no one was allowed in mine. I filled it up with record players, Elton John things and stuffed animals (especially muppets). I kept it for 8 years.

2. My cousin from Wales came to live with us for two years because his parents were having financial trouble. My brother stopped playing with me because he was always out building cars with my cousin. I resented it and stopped talking but wouldn't tell anyone why. My parents decided it didn't matter because I was quiet and spent a lot of time reading, so they didn't seek help.

3. I was afraid of the game Candy Land, because the board was too colourful and everyone learned to play before I did. I felt like I was too old not to understand such a simple looking game, but I was afraid to ask the rules. When people played Candy Land I pretended I was sick, and hoped no one noticed the pattern.

1) I love "Red, Red Wine" by Bob Marley.
2) I don't like to drink red wine.
3) I once had a run-in with Ziggy Marley's bodyguard.

I first heard “Israelites” in 1969 and “Hold Me Tight” in 1968. Both reggae songs. Both played constantly on the radio. I’m I didn’t know what reggae was. Neither did the deejays.

Your brother didn’t allow you in his fort, too. But you didn’t care. Yours was cooler.

#1 is true. I was in my brother's fort all the time. It was a funky place. We used to play a game called Cooties (a plastic toy) and I can still smell the plastic.
