That's what I love about my unusual Special Interests. You're captivated by them. You spend ALL the time you can, thinking and researching them, looking at pictures and videos of them.

You can see it's weird and you have absolutely no idea why you're totally and completely besotted with it.

It's almost like being under a magical spell.

I suspect the reason why I like judo despite not comfortable with people touching me is because I get to hug people and vice versa
Granted, they are more like bear-hugs...

Have you ever noticed that after people have known you for a while, they seem to start being less friendly and distance themselves from you?

Well said. That's exactly what most people do. I'd say,

20% of people: rude, unfriendly right from the beginning because they can pick up my weirdness and insecurity straight away
60%: friendly initially but quite soon they turn less friendly and distant when they realize I'm not normal
10%: takes longer but they eventually become less friendly
9%: never fail to be friendly but they are just being superficially nice and polite
1%: genuinely friendly and interested

Something like that.

I'm starting to fire on all thrusters again. Refreshing to have it back after all those years!

I don't know what I'm doing to attract all the unhinged aggression I've been getting lately, or if I'm doing anything. I've actually been making an effort to be more agreeable. Maybe, there's a bunch of pent-up rage in my vicinity, and seeming milder has given it an outlet? Maybe it's just a matter of a change in my perceptions, where I see aggression where I would have previously overlooked it? People don't fit neatly into my schema, as usual.

On WP, do people know when you've added them to your Friends list? Do they get a message? :?:
