1. My brother and I each built our own play fort indoors His was three storeys tall (on shelving), with carpet and strobe lights and trap doors. Mine was a big room made of bed sheets hung from the ceiling. I went in my brother's fort but no one was allowed in mine. I filled it up with record players, Elton John things and stuffed animals (especially muppets). I kept it for 8 years.

2. My cousin from Wales came to live with us for two years because his parents were having financial trouble. My brother stopped playing with me because he was always out building cars with my cousin. I resented it and stopped talking but wouldn't tell anyone why. My parents decided it didn't matter because I was quiet and spent a lot of time reading, so they didn't seek help.

3. I was afraid of the game Candy Land, because the board was too colourful and everyone learned to play before I did. I felt like I was too old not to understand such a simple looking game, but I was afraid to ask the rules. When people played Candy Land I pretended I was sick, and hoped no one noticed the pattern.

1? Eight years?

Eight years. Yes. Now you know why I'm confused about my lack of diagnosis.

I know the version of “Red Red Wine” by UB40, named after the British unemployment form.

You had no run-in with Ziggy’s bodyguard.

“Funky” had a positive meaning in the 70s. Think about the song Funkytown” (though that’s a 1980 song).

Actually Candy Land is true.
#2 is my lie. It's 99 % accurate but with minor details incorrect.

Ah, but I did. Luckily it wasn't my blood he was out for, though. Ziggy and his band played my college and I was the House Manager for the show. A band member saw the "little red light" of a friend of mine who was pirating the show. The bodyguard said if we didn't hand over the tape they would walk off stage. Needless to say, the tape was destroyed.

I love drinking red wine :)

Did the kid from Wales stay longer? Was your brother doing something else than building cars.

There was another reason why my cousin left home.

1. I liked to stage pretend Elton John concerts with my muppets as the audience.
2. I liked to pretend I was asleep in random places so my dad would carry me to bed.
3. I pretended I was Suzie from "Crocodile Rock".

There was abuse. It's complicated. You're smart.

I think I associate it with something? But I don't remember what.
