I really don't understand what motivates nasty/mean people to be that way. Are they simply mean-natured? Born nasty? Their instinct?

the woman at the wood shop i went to started talking to me about the prices of the timber paneling and a thought ran through my mind:

there must have existed more than a trillion fish in the history of the earth. what a staggering thought. then i went on to think:

what is truly staggering is that none of them...absolutely none of them have ever used a telephone. over a trillion of them and not one has used a phone. wow.

then i thought that there must be a number of fish that have simply seen a telephone throughout history.
i wonder how many? it is too hard for me to work out. maybe i will go to the local library on monday and ask for a book that tells me how many fish have ever seen a telephone.

then she stopped talking and i told her that i was not interested and left.

Sometimes the grittiest wording contains its own eloquence. "$hit or get off the pot" for example. Nothing more needs to be said.

At this particular moment in time I can't think of anything more boring than waiting for toast.

Today was the longest day of the year. This evening I spent the extra moments of daylight napping on my couch.
