I honestly don't see the point of celebrating July 4th. It just seems like a lot of pointless patriotism. I mean, our country has done so many horrible things, so what's the point of spending a day pretending the country is amazing? Plus, it's been over 200 years since the Declaration of Independence was written, so why do we have to keep celebrating the anniversary of it? Frankly, it just seems like an excuse for NTs to get off of work and party together.
I, on the other hand, am spending today like every other day in my life: alone, in my room, doing nothing. Yay, America!
It is an excuse of sorts because we need a festival for the summer, turns out white people do have culture. I wish it was on the 21st of June, the summer solstice, but lame old fathers day got that one. I think you hatred of the day mostly has to do with the tacky consumerism that has leeched onto all our holidays. I'll be be spending it the same way though, doing nothing but sitting back and enjoying myself.
