I got an unexpected pay rise. My boss simply decided that I deserved it and raised my waged on September 1, when I had only one month working there (since the payment for September only comes on the fifth business day of October, I will be paid this Friday, which explain why I did not know about the raise).

And my manager also decided to train me to do a more rewarding (and demanding) work, which is exactly what I wanted to do (I like to do difficult tasks).

P.S.: Also, this time I posted in the right place, since I made a mistake last week and posted in the "unhappy" topic that I had become a CPA.

aww you're just being modest.

this partly happened yesterday and partly today but i was out cold the minute i hit my bed yesterday so yeah. student elections are on and on tuesday i had class with my education classmate and as we were walking down we were bombarded by people campaigning. im in the left ticket and i was explaining to him that the red shirt people were greens and labour left and the yellows were liberal and labour right and he was disgusted and shocked and was like "what are they doing here! they shouldnt be allowed here- theyre anti- education! if i was running i'd just be telling people that theyre the liberal and labour party: theyre right wing! theyre conservatives! dont vote for them!". im so proud of him- at the start of term he didnt know what right and left were but i totally taught him that. and then i was explaining what basis theyre running on($10 jugs of beer for all) and he was outraged. then i explained what we were running on(we'll campaign for same sex marriage, palestine, refugees, oppose staff cuts, better welfare) and told him the other groups didnt support them and thought they werent student issues and his response was to interrupt me and exclaim "how are they not student issues! of course theyre student issues- how can they say theyre not! the whole point of being in any position of power is to do something! if you dont do anything your saying its ok! im going to ask that guy why he doesnt support refugees!" it was the best reaction i have ever heard. he now thinks the src is useless and hates the yellow and red shirts. and today he came up to me to show me his essay which he was really proud of and he saw the red shirts carrying their massive advertising wooden board away and he just looked offended and was like "what is that: a trojan horse?".
he was also really happy on tuesday because a guy in our class he hates made a crappy oral presentation and he couldnt stop laughing at him and he was really happy he got to be the peer review person so he could judge him badly. he hates this guy because he has spent the term talking through every persons presentation so he feels he got what he deserved. he was really excited to go home and tell his boyfriend. he had this really broad happy smile on his face and it was the sweetest thing. ok at this point i make even myself want to vomit. at least i didnt stick in love hearts or something. that would be embarrassing.

So I was at the systems engineering introductory course minding my own business when a guy I'd never talked with before called me over. His AppInventor app was crashing and in general not working properly, and he didn't know the cause. I checked it out, found out the cause, showed it to him, told him why, and fixed it. While wondering, among the 30+ people taking that course, why call me? I might be starting to develop a reputation :D

I got a book in the mail that I've been excited about :D

It's a rather school-ish book on learning to memorize the fretboard... Unfortunately, my eyes are very red and burny from lack of sleep, and when I started to read it and think on the exercises, it started to make my tired brain melt into a minty pudding, so I had to put it down for another time when I've not gone a recent night of bad insomnia :|

I'm still happy about the book though, as it looks like it shall be a good help once I get some sleep :D:tired:

i went to my education lecture today and saw my classmate. he was really excited about telling me that he was walking through a bunch of campainers for the red shirt and yellow shirt people and he saw one of the red shirt people talking to a friend of his and he told me that when he knows things other people dont he's an arse about it so he says he went up to them and was like "rumour has it that the red shirts only care about microwaves and the yellow shirts only care about cheap alcohol". the response of the red shirt was to say that they had made progress in getting microwaves and my classmate was just like "I DONT CARE". then he turns to the red shirt and is asks them why they dont care about homophobia and important issues and the red shirt articulates the sentiment that refugees and same sex marriage arent student issues and my classmate retaliates by arguing that anyone in any position of power should use that power to do something good. he took pleasure in informing me that his friend didnt vote for them. god he's so f#cking hot. it was priceless. i cracked up.

also he showed me a text his boyfriend sent him and we both pissed ourselves laughing. it feels good to laugh about things with people(or just him). it read: i saw a guy riding his skateboard on his stomach like an idiot. reminded me of your uni.

I got a fairly good compliment on my guitar playing after I finished practicing for about an hour... I didn't know I was being listened to through the walls of my room though :|

I had a nice conversation with somebody I know, and winter shopping went remarkably smooth.

My hair is did. It looks ok I guess. The fringe could be a little thicker and the graduation a little more dramatic, but I'll get them to fix that next time.

But man, my hair has never been this straight!. Everyone wasn't lying, GHD's really DO do a better job. The hairdresser only had to run it over my hair once :o . I don't think any places in town that sell them offer layby though.
