Last night I was reading an article on some of the worst "geek comedy" books ever written. One of them was a joke book called "Mirthful Kombat". The writer only seems to know two things about video games - that Sonic the Hedgehog is spiky and blue, and the Mario Bros. are two plumbers who wear overalls and eat pasta. The jokes were AWFUL, and the illustrations weren't much better. Like one of the jokes was Alice in Wonderland asking the Mad Hatter what was that bleeping sound coming from his teapot and the Hatter replied "You never heard of NINTENDORMOUSE?"

They showed one book I actually had when I was a kid. Pac-Mania. It was a book that had bland, dull pictures of Pac-man doing things with bad puns on the word "Pac". One of them was "Pac-Man with bad breath" and it shows a cluster of other Pac-Men in a corner of the page, supposedly trying to keep away from the one with bad breath.But according to Cracked it was originally Pac-Man laughing at an open grave", but the editor of the book told the author that was too dark or "German", or something. I feel kind of bad now for even buying it as a kid, although it wasn't the worst joke book I've owned. It was in a monthly book order we used to get at school, back then we didn't have the internet or Amazon reviews to guide us, so...
