The image you posted, Krabo, reminds me of a couple of videos I recently saw.

Better check in your cupboard that the nightie's still there and that the Hamster Interior Designing League hasn't removed it for sofa fabric...it became pretty popular after the pic appeared in the January issue of Snazzy Rodent.

Hey enviro, great news. Most of the glitches I have been having problems with seem to have been ironed out, and I can finally post again. It still doesn't like it if I try to quote, but I can live with that for now.

I'm not sure the second animal in your post qualifies as 'cute'. He looks like a large, rather angry cat.

It's a Pallas Cat also known as a Manul. definitely not as cute as the Ili Pika in the first pic though.

Ili pikas are extremely rare and threatened with possible extinction, and had not been spotted for twenty years before a few recent images were taken. The Chinese scientist who discovered (and rediscovered) them, is making an effort to create a conservation area for them.

I'm glad they are creating a conservation area. I hope the poor creatures don't get bothered, now people know they are there.

Not going anywhere near that Pallas Cat, though I have seen pictures of Pallas Kittens that are beyond cute.......they still look wild and fierce, even as babies; their keeper was wearing heavy leather gloves!

They are quite endangered, as well.

Apparently hippos eat "soft grasses and shrubs growing close to the ground, such as ferns. They also eat some aquatic plants, reeds, leaves and fallen nuts or fruits", all according to answers[dot]com. I would assume the babies eat much the same. This one certainly seems to like its grass.
