But I don't agree that a white person voicing a black cartoon character has to be offensive. If a black person voices a white cartoon character is that still offensive? I wouldn't be offended. I just enjoy the cartoon. .
I don't know a single person who has said or thinks it's offensive for white people to voice black characters in cartoons, the entire argument for voice actors stepping down and being replaced is that it should be like in live-action TV shows and movies where minority characters are played by minority actors.
Like no would even
think of having a white person playing a black character in a live-action show, so why have them voice one in a cartoon? Yeah you can definitely argue 'Well it's a cartoon, it's not like they're donning blackface for the voice role' and that's very true, but at the same time, why not just hire a black voice actor for them? Same with any other race.
Also have to disagree with your definition of 'snowflake', that may be the dictionary definition of the term (when used in a political/social context), but from my own experience it's mostly just used by right-wingers as a term to refer to liberals and leftists (which they also love to conflate and treat as the same thing even though, speaking as someone who is very much far-left politically, I and other leftists have virtually nothing politically in common with liberals) who have
any reaction to anything they do or say.
Like I personally have been called a snowflake for....calling out and not putting up with people saying bigoted and hateful garbage.
????
The term literally is meaningless (not like it ever meant anything anyways, it's mostly just a snarl word).
