we're at the latitude of alaska or something, BUT the hot mexican gulf water follows the gulf stream, w nice hot air, and warms everything up. spain is at a new-york latitude. there should be raining in spain, and saami-people tipis should dominate scandinavia
so, we get hot air + arctic sun, the arctic sun shines at a very low angle, thats why it dissapears during winter, and never goes away during summer, but this also means it hits your skin, rather than heat the air (after all, its not hot enough to heat the air. mexico heats our air) so it just hits your skin, and sizzles it. its can be very unpleasant, i will rather endure 40C in spain, than 25C in norway, and lately its been 35C here
europe as a whole is a little climate-anomaly :]
