I jumped my lesson pony, Star, over some bigger jumps today. She was a very good girl.

i didnt think i would have anything good to say about wednesday but then i went for a walk and now i do. i was walking a couple of streets away from my house and came upon a building site. the building site was boring, i would not have concerned myself with it were it not for the large, red union flags draped over the fence and the signs saying "support the cfmeu, justice for unpaid workers". apparently the union is taking action over the fact that there is a contractor that has been denied pay by the boss. according to the traffic controller anyway. so cool. i took some dodgy pictures in the midnight darkness. but the picket line would be more effective with people on it. maybe in the morning? the cfmeu is one of my favourite unions.

i was feeling crappy today and i still don't feel great but i felt slightly better after i went and planted potatoes. i didn't do it properly though. i used soil instead of compost and the cloth i used to hold soil in the compost bin was a cloth- it will rot before the potatoes mature. but it still made me feel good. special interests: where would i be without them?
and i made brocolli soup using a pumkin soup recipe. it was a moderate success.
i also called centrelink and cleared a few things up. the man on the phone was very helpful. he also freaked out when he realised i have no medicare card and seemed sincerely worried which was sweet and he also told me how to use my healthcare card and gave me all sorts of useful information. he also re-issued me a health care card because i never got sent one in the mail. (does this mean im not covered by anything right now?).

i found a new back street late this afternoon that allows me to bypass a set of traffic lights. it saves me about 3 minutes of driving time to get onto the main road.
i am so excited about it that i plan to get up early tomorrow and use the back street to get onto the main road and then drive around the block and repeat it over and over again. if i use that back street 30 times tomorrow, i will have saved 90 minutes, and i would like an extra 90 minutes of free time.

So, I was sat in boring assembly which, as always, was about the same boring "Achivements" and "Success" and "Education" that we've been told repeatedly about so much that I just want to shout "WE ALREADY KNOW!!" But then there was this prize draw giving out £5 gift cards to those who had 100% attendence this term. My name didn't come up, but then there was another draw where teachers had chosen names of people who they think did well in school, and guess who won a £10 gift card from that?

I saw Looper today (quite a good movie). tommorow I will be going to the Melbourne Tigers first home game of the season(basketball team). I am particuarly looking forward to this as they are playing in a big venue again (the venue they used to play in held 3500 people, the new venue holds 10,000). So to celebrate they are having competitions, a half time performance of a local dance group and a function after the game where u can meet the players :).

GO TIGERS!! !! !! !

my sister texted me to tell me she got her red Ps. she got full marks and apparently was only one of 2 people who got given that mark by that tester. the kid is growing up.

i also did the stall(same sex marriage petition) today and a white, racist south african came up to us. also a european racist homophobe came up to us to ask what we meant by marriage equality- was it people marrying to get visas? people marrying goats? then she said some racist things about gypsies, called my palestinian comrade a russian as an insult(she kept insisting he was despite his protestations) and said that if we lived in a socialist state none of us would be allowed into university because we are all "proletarian trash". proletarian trash. pissed myself laughing. so did the others. for the rest of the stall i was like "support hahaha sa-haha-me sehehehx maahahharriage ahahahaha" as i handed leaflets out to people.

watching daria with my comrade. she bought home plants.

I won a razor I've wanted for ages on ebay and someone said something kind toward me, it gave me the warm fuzzies and I wish I could hug them.
