I basically hanged out with my two best buds today, much like I did yesterday and will probably do tomorrow. they fit into my pocket and dont require any take out. plus they look amazing with a little bit of sunlight, the best of friends!

I went to uni (I'm part-time so only go every 4-6 weeks) and my tutor from last year who I got on well with asked if I wanted to go for a coffee with her so nice of her and went surprisingly well (if she thought I was weird/annoying, she didn't say).

so apparently our former Prime Minister (former minister for foreign affairs and back bencher), Kevin Rudd's nephew, Van Thanh Rudd joined the socialist organisation i belong to. SAlt's mixing it with important people now. he must hate his uncle. how far did this apple fall from the tree? apparently he is an artist. i've seen some of his work and it isn't bad.

Just glad my headache is gone.

i must urgently get to sleep immediately or i will begin to insult people who i do not normally feel irreverent towards.

I am just glad the day is over and done with

my comrade says that part of the tv show Redfern Now was shot at another comrades house and that the crew said the police had said the show could borrow some of their cars if they changed bits of the script. this makes me more keen on the show which will be screened at the Block in Redfern with snacks and things on wednesday and my comrade said we could see it together. if the police hate it it must be ok.

and i am going to lebanon. i am going to lebanon. I AM GOING TO LEBANON. oh my god. like i'm going to lebanon. i am excited. i thought after i moved out i would never be able to go again but i am. i have so many things to do. i have to get the books i am going to smuggle in sorted, i have to contact meem or helem see if they want them, i have to draw maps of where zico house and nasawiya cafe are, i have to find out where the public libraries are, i have to buy and plant things in my yard, i have to get uni stuff sorted, so much to do. i am nervous about this too. all the drawbacks of going are still there. i hate being in the closet and it will be worse now that i have tasted freedom and the place will be worse now with all the fear mongering that the ruling class is propagating around queers recently. i should bring back a copy of queer arab publications for the queespace at uni. i think i will take same sex marriage rally stickers from here and post them all over beirut if there are any left. speaking of which the ticket was booked for 2 days before the next rally and i want it moved after the 25th because that is when the next marriage equality rally is and i have not missed one since i started uni in 2010 and i will not start now. especially since i build these things and organise them now.

edit: i found the facebook page of the socialist group in lebanon with similar politics to mine! they're having a meeting tonight on the egyptian revolution.

Certain customers at my job were very pleasant and patient and I rewarded them with freebees. A group of guys said I was "a legend" as I was extra accommodating to them. It made up for the rude/ignorant people that I had to deal with.

Are we allowed to post about things that made us happy a few days ago? Cuz on Monday, I checked my mailbox and found out that my grandparents had sent me the Disney pin that I'd lost at their house over the summer. It was one of Susie the coupe (the little Car in my avatar), so I was so happy to get it back....I'd felt kinda "empty" without it.

And today, I checked my mailbox again, and the Sylvanian Families raccoon I'd ordered from Etsy had arrived! I really like raccoons. And when I opened the package, I discovered that the Etsy seller had included two other little Maple Town animals! My little Calico Critters/Sylvanian/Maple Town community keeps getting a little bigger (I don't buy many of the "family sets" since they're so expensive, but I have a bunch of the babies and brother/sister ones).

I bought myself a new pair of runners today. They're khaki and pea green.
