I don't have to work for that old school supervisor anymore. Yesterday was my last day working for that company. I got the last laugh against those old school attitudes towards women with disabilities expressed by an abrasive male coworker and my female supervisor, by coming to work dressed as the most masculine thing that a Londoner can be, without screwing up his body - a Pearly King. I left the company in the Cockney Spirit instead of having sour grapes about my biological gender that I don't identify as on WP. :)

We all got laid off yesterday, and the supervisor won't be shouting down at any of us anymore.

Considering a plan B for my future and not putting all my eggs in one basket.

Birthday, whoray.....

Uni finally sent a receipt for my fees which I gave to my boss. Now I can get money off them to pay bills. Now I gotta pay next semester on my credit card....whoray... But I strictly promised myself I would only use this card for uni stuff. I pay for my monthly internet bill with it but that's because it is kinda uni related since I claimed some of that as a work related self-education expense on my tax.

There really were three things in the last 24 hours.

I got to talk to an old friend I hadn't spoken to in a rather long time... which felt nice.

My dead pickup came back from the grave... which I don't know what happened, but I shan't complain about not having to get a repair done. Though it still needs attention at some point as three days of death isn't all that good as far as reliability.

Lastly, upon researching pickups because the dead one caused me to ponder that that one of the pickups wasn't all that ideal for my music style from the start... I found out the Rhythm and Treble pickups were switched in my head due to being misinformed for some years now. Apparently my bridge pickup was the one to go out, so I would have felt quite stupid for changing the neck pickup out only to find that that was the one I liked >_>

My husband (also probably an Aspie) has finally begun to understand my desire for routine and has become very understanding of me in that area. Not that he wasn't understanding before, he just wasn't vocal about it.

I looked at some videos on peopleofwalmart.com.
I was amazed and needed some melodysheep songs to recover from it.

... And now I understand what people were talking about being unhappy to work in those supermarkets.

congratulations. i know it always feels good when they come back.

the stall today. i have not done it in ages because my saturdays have been all wrong. we sold 56 magazines, met three contacts and we had a lot of comrades around to deal with the large number of people going through pitt street mall. we also had a number of homophobes(same sex marriage petition this week) come up to us. they always delight and amuse. the one that came up to me was all like "this will open up the door to adoption!" and i took great pleasure in telling him we could already adopt. i cannot believe he didn't know. it is so old news. he was horrified- "two men raising a girl". i made his day.

oh and a new issue of my organisations magazine has come out which is exciting. there is an article on the history of the liberal party which starts with a golden quote:
Quote:
never forget the history of politics and never forget which side we're on. we're on the side of making profits. we're on the side of people owning private capital.
- peter reith, liberal minister for industrial relations, addressing a business lunch in 1998. it's so blatant. it's like, we can hear you...
