I have seen combination ovens, and you can run anything from a battery pack of the right size, or a generator. However, that pretty much ruins the camping experience.

A device that allows us to share memories, thoughts, feelings, and experiences from one mind to another. Sometimes words are just not enough.

We need to integrate light railroads (streetcar tracks) with expressways and self-driving cars, and make all the rolling stock radically lighter. Details available.

I'm with you on the food pill.

Eating is an enormous stress filled pain in the arse. All those textures (a number of which make me feel ill), all that cooking paraphernalia, the general expectation they everyone absolutely must join in with the whole social aspect of eating etc. Is a never ending process, you eat something with all the hassle that comes with his and in no time at all you have to repeat the whole process again. Forever.

As an aside, in the 60's we were all under the impression (mainly fuelled by TV content) that by the turn of the century we would all be wearing silver jump suits, living in bubble shaped houses on stilts and travelling in flying cars. Well that didnt happen. I particularly likes the clothing aspect of this - not because I am particularly attracted to silver jump suits but by the notion of standardised universal and uniform clothing that obviated the need to make decisions about buying clothing and deciding what to wear every day.

A simple and fool-proof truth determining machine, for crime.

Round up the suspects especially those who hurt children, and get the full truth of all the information.

I think that's better than a lie detector. It doesn't help to know if someone is lying. It helps to know the full truth.

We wouldn't need criminal court if the truth detecting machines proved who did it.

Maybe just a sentencing trial.

It would be even better if forensic examiners could "replay" the last moments of a victim's life too, to confirm.

Maybe they could find and activate a brain cell. That would seal the deal.

Sorry for being morbid but there has to be a better way to find the truth behind crime.

Humans can't handle the technology they've already got. Like cell phones and computers. Because no matter how advanced technology becomes, humans stay the same. As in selfish, destructive and idiotic. :x

I don't care if most of these items ever get invented. A hoverboard? I can't even balance on a real skateboard, how am I going to stay on a board that's whizzing down the street at 100 miles an hour? And without any protective gear on?

A food pill? What I want more than anything is a pill that instantly cures any disease, and without side effects or anything else harmful. Like that will ever happen.

A crazy idea. Hurricane busters, for coastal cities prone to hurricanes like Miami.

All a hurricane is is a low pressure zone. A spot in the atmosphere with low air pressure that sucks in surrounding air into a vortex to make a storm. So the way to bust a hurricane is to equalize the local air pressure, by increasing the air pressure inside the vortex.

So...every port city in America's gulf, and southern Atlantic coast would have something like a giant iceberg of dried ice, or somekind of mountain sized lump of frozen air, just sitting in the middle of the harbor. Just sitting there like a mile high fire extinquisher, not being used.

Then when Hurricane Zelda approaches the city they simply turn off the mountain's refrigeration switch. And the mountain of frozen air will start to melt and boil off. So when the hurricane hits, say Miami, Miami harbor would get a sudden increase in air pressure because the mountain would be in full melt down and boil off mode-adding extra air to the local atmosphere in the hurricane stricken harbor-increasing the air pressure Thus sabotaging the hurricane by reducing the air pressure differential between the heart of the hurricane and the surrounding world's atmosphere. Thus slowing down the winds and lessening the violence, saving the town much damage.

And these mountain size lumps of frozen air could be carved into any funky thing the local city fathers want. A second Statue of Liberty, a second Mount Rushmore, a whimsical wedding cake castle, a scale mode of Rio's Sugar Loaf Mountain, or whatever. :D
