wherever it all comes from [trees, smaller plants] it pollens on the just and the unjust. it makes both the susceptible rich and the poor sneeze and wheeze alike.

Critters, pretty much...everywhere!

In Northern California, (USA West Coast) they all disappear, die or hunker down during the hot, dry summers and the cold, wet winters. So, like in a desert, spring is when all the plants and critters (arthropods, more arthropods, molluscs, amphibians and reptiles) have to hatch/germinate, grow up, find mates and lay eggs or seed, all from Feb to May. The entire ecosystem radically shifts for four months. Luckily we are a very critter-enthusiastic family, so this is a wonderful time of year.
