It had its roots in the 1900s when early Zionists groups formed, who were still a minority in Jewish culture at the time and considered immoral to most. They later went to bomb a hotel under British control and attack Bedouin people living in then Palestine. They were successful in using terrorism to meat their aims and merged with the government and army on formation of the state of Israel. After the WWII Zionism gained popular support, because the atrocities committed against Jews. In the 30's some fundamentalist ideas formed in Egypt that the west are zombies but there aren't aware they aren’t actually alive so it was ok to kill anybody that disagreed with them indiscriminately. The nazis and the cold war further inflamed tensions between states and also the undercurrent of hatred between sunni and shia plus suspicion between many of the other minority group living in the area…

Only ducks can solve this problem now.

If the ducks are prepared to form a military alliance with Sopholand, then we can save the Middle East together. If not, then the dooks are doomed and Sophian forces will resort to looting and drunken parties in Baghdad.

Crybabies are "very sensitive" people.

That's how I define them.

And what do I think of them?

Meh, I laugh if they mourn and pour their heart out over something so petty.

Kitten, I really hope you change your mind. But of course I understand if you've decided to leave. I think it's awful that it's come to this. WP has a lot to thank you for, the new forum for one thing. I will miss you so much. And you were one of the people who made me feel welcome when I first joined here. I do hope you change your mind, but if you don't, let's still keep in touch eh? Take care Lass.

You said that you emailed Alex? There was a whole thread's worth of discussion. The general consensus is that it is a glitch, and considering the lack of actual power we mods have in regards to investigating things, especially actual technical errors or account hijacking, you can put up with it until Alex can get back to you. And he rarely answers things, believe me! WP's servers probably will have to be on fire before we get a response.

Quatermass - as you are a moderator, why don't you just stop this thread and ban the offenders? As someone who has been bullied and abused for most of my life, many of the posts here really upset me. I though WP was supposed to be a sefe place for those who may be vulnerable. If people can get picked on here and there are no significant consequences, how can it be safe? And if it is not safe, they where exactly are vulnerable people who are picked on in society supposed to go to be safe?

I think that it is necessary to be strict with people - this kind of behaviour is not okay and I don't understand why the moderators aren't taking measures to stop it. I feel like you care a little but not very much and I just want to be safe and want others to be safe too.

Whether we like it or not, there are a lot of unpleasant people in the world, and unless you are very strict with them and block them from places where they can get access to the vulnerable, then the people who are the most in need of support and protection will basically get taken advantage of.

"Crybaby" is a harsh remark, and used by bullies by the way, give us sensitive people a break, we have been through things that make us vulnerable and insecure.

A person who had been bullied before and finds something similar on WP, it will break his/her heart inmensly.

am I a crybaby?

Oh good Lord in heaven, this is just a thread.

I know of at least one person like this - in real life, by the way - who has never gone through anything tramatic in her life, but since everyone doesn't automatically love her, whines and whines and says the whole world is against her. She burst into tears and kicked the wall today because I asked her not to talk during the speeches because it was rude and people were trying to listen. It was hardly an attack, nor did I yell. I asked polietly. She yelled that the entire world was about "p***ing her off." That, in my opinion, is not really acceptable.

Yes, there are people who have actually been hurt or abused, and are very emotionally open as a result of it. I don't have a problem with that. As far as I'm concerned, they have a right to cry about that and subsequent attacks. Those who are very sensitive - and I mean have real emotions about things -are also fine with me. I understand that some people that have very intense emotions. That's hardly their fault. I don't blame them for that.

However, there are people that I will tenatively label as "drama queens" (or kings, if that's the case). There are people who will burst into tears, yell, or pretend that the whole world is out to get them simply because it attracts attention and gets them their way. These people annoy me quite a bit, since they undermine the creditabilty of those who actually are hurt and/or sensitive. When you manipulate people to get your own way - knowingly, without actually feelings, in cold blood manipulate - people then you do not get my respect.

I've had tons of painful experiences to the point I'm numb to it. . .check that, actually have grown to like pain.

I had considered asking Kosmonaut for help as he is a mathematian-I have never been able to grasp higher mathematics. And thought having another aspie over an NT explain it seemed logical . But that is no longer an option.

Oh right, I live in Oregon City, OR and am in the phone book (C. M. Kinney)

Whiteskunk, I think that you should delete that post where you put your surname etc.

I've read a few threads here, and have seen the bullying. Wp is a safe place - many lives have been transfomed ... maybe a bit strong of a word...Why do some of you carry on?

Kilroy, Smelena will come through your computer screen if you get banned.

The best thing to do is to ignore a thread if you think someone is flaming. This one has gone on for 7 pages. It's like the tabloids, where some a###hole gets heaps of press for no good reason except that he keeps stirring the pot.

Settle petals.

I know nothing about you Bizarre so I am not attacking you. I do think your thread is in bad taste though. Nor do I know about the politics here. I do think that politics and exploiting the weak is very NT.

Signing off...an NT
