Nothing.
Couldn't think of something I did that most people hadn't.

What something I didn't do that most people did on the other hand...

Did a Micheal Jackson moonwalk in front of a crowd at a party.

Years earlier a warehouse coworker and I had figured out how he did it...look like he is stepping forward while actually moving backwards. Using our hands on a crate to dupicate the movements of his feet on the dancefloor.

I was deejaying at a party at an American Legion hall. When I played "Billie Jean" a drunk guy kinda pulled me onto the dance floor insisting that I do a moonwalk, so I thought 'what the hell', and the crowd moved off the dance floor to make room and watch as I did a pretty good moonwalk. Got a big response.

I sold a bottle of Pepto Bismal to...Howard K. Smith!

He was a heavyweight network news commentator in the same weight class as Eric Severeid and Walter Conkrite for decades.

Was working in a Peoples' Drug (some years before it got bought out by the CVS chain). And he came up to the counter. Despite the pallid look on his face (because he needed PB) I recognized him when he stepped up to my cash register to buy the bottle of the stuff. And I rang him up.

A middle aged Black lady asked for her pics from the film developer. I watched her open the envelop and look through her pics. Noticed pics of the then POTUS (HW Bush).

"Oh yeah. We were at the White House...yawwwn. Aretha Franklin is my sister...ho hum".I notice that she did kinda look like Aretha. I learned later that Aretha used her three sisters as backup singers on...all my fav Aretha hits! So that lady is on my CDs along with Aretha!

Yay!

I took a Master Class with Marcel Marceau, the famous mime.

Sat perfectly still while a wild skunk in the woods walked past me. He never saw me.

Carried the first ever dose of tissue plasminogen activator (TPA) used in the hospital I was working at. In a glass vial.
It cost at the time about $2000 a dose. I was very careful. It is now commonly used, but then it was brand new.

Drank palm wine in Sulewasi jungle in a carved wooded cup from the tip of a bamboo still.

Muse Teenage Cancer Trust gig in 2008 at the Royal Albert Hall. One of the best days of my life.

Met and hung out with a few people I admire (musicians, directors, writers).

Been to quite a few film premières. It was strange being papped and asked for autographs. Wouldn't want to be famous - that stuff is anxiety inducing.

That all sounds fun. ^

Went inside the Dolby Theatre (formerly Kodak Theatre) where they host the Academy Awards, and also to Grauman's Chinese Theatre (early Oscars).

Lived in LA during Valley Girl times.
Survived.

Went to the house from Six Feet Under.

Drove through Death Valley.

Gambled in Las Vegas, including Circus Circus when I was 14.

Saw the MGM Lion.

Went skiing in Big Bear CA.

Conducted a choir.

Played Ode to Joy on a recorder in the bathtub.

Painted my dad's toenails.

Spent days talking to him when he was in a coma.

Visited Gettysburg and Arlington National Cemetery.

Went inside the White House.

Composed my thesis statement in a dream.
I'm able to read and write in my dreams, which is very unusual.

Went to several physics (cold readings and palmistry).

Climbed up on the roof of a hotel.
Turned all the international flags upside-down.

Went snorkelling in Cozumel.

Jumped off the JAWS bridge at Martha's Vineyard.

Saw whales breach in the Atlantic and Pacific.

Very possibly got bumped by a shark in Cuba.

Taught AP Literature when I was 21 (They were 18-19).

Got a set of knives from my friend, who is a convicted murderer.

Went inside a maximum security penitentiary.

Watched Disney artists design the dancing plate scene (Beauty & The Beast).

Acted the part of Diane Chambers on the Cheers soundstage.
I got to banter with Norm. My bad -- I mean Cliff (the mailman).

Taught myself to juggle.

Recited a soliloquy from Romeo & Juliet while juggling four beanbags on stage.

Felt the sonic boom of a meteor.

Here's Diane being savage:

^ I've been enjoying reading your list of epic experiences. 8)

More I can think of:

David Bowie is exhibition in 2013 at the V&A. Mind-blowing.

Kylie Minogue exhibition at the V&A. They had many of her outfits on display.

Visited Oscar Wilde's tomb. Sat down and had a ciggy, while listening to The Smith's Cemetry Gates. This photo is from 2012.

Saw the Mona Lisa. Photo also taken in 2012.

Saw Queen in concert.
Can snap my toes and wiggle my nose
Can float on my back like a seal and drink a beer at the same time
Had lightning strike right outside my bedroom window when I was a child.
Black bears visiting the yard
Came face with an otter in a small creek, my Lab put her nose down to sniff and the otter bit it and the Lab ran off yelping
Saw the whole wood lit up at night like a Christmas card, the ice on trees had melted enough so that in the full moonlight it was like prism’s
I’ve never seen anything like it.
Saw the northern lights this far south twice.

I'm super jealous that you saw Queen. ^
What era was it?

WAI, I saw Bowie in concert.
Plus most other classic rock bands (except Queen). :(
I have the Bowie tour t-shirt somewhere.
I also had a fish named David Bowie.

I kept large aquaria of female beta fish sororities.
They lived several years without killing one another.

We had "ball lightning" go through a side door and explode our TV.
I was really young and I don't remember it.

Anthony Quinn gave me the carnation from his hat.
It was the intermission of Zorba the Greek.
I was in orchestra seating and having a bad night.
He said he noticed me looking upset and wanted to cheer me up.
I still have it pressed in a book.

I've seen the Northern Lights too.

Most of mine was at least 20 years ago.
I was just doing what my family / friends were doing.
I didn't have much choice when I was a child.

Now I'm a proud and verified couch potato.

^ OMG, you are so lucky to have seen Bowie live!! My youngest sister is obsessed with him - she's the very cool and remarkably intelligent one in the family.

Am so envious - I want to see the northern lights!

More unique experiences I've had:

Was almost 'abducted' by a nun. I was in the passenger seat of my friend's car - waiting for her while she was at a takeaway. A nun got into the car and drove off with me in it. I kept saying 'excuse me, you're in the wrong car' but she couldn't seem to hear or see me. Then I tapped her arm and she jumped, apologised and returned me to the same spot.

Had an embarrassing accident of a female nature during a first date. The date was going so well until that happened and I had to cut it short. Can't imagine this has happened to many people.

Nicolas Roeg asked me to stand next to him for a photograph.

Photo of me in the local newspaper when I was a baby.

Uh...

- I've held an owl.

- I've performed dance routines in front of an audience on stage at a theatre.

- I've been a member of an improv group.

- I directed and starred in a short film once.

Frankly I should get out more this year and have some new experiences. I'm bored.

I had tickets to Bowie but the show got rescheduled almost a year later.
Thank goodness I was able to see the second one.
It was the Reality tour in 04.

When the real DB died I told my daughter.
She shrugged it off and thought I was talking about our fish. :(

Your nun story is hilarious although I'm sure you were frightened.

Not sure who NR is, but I'll google.

Was the newspaper photo announcing your birth?

I had one of those experiences on the seat of a cool guy's sports car.
Whoops.
