I was actually under the grill (in the scanner) twice, once for brain and neck that was supposed to be 20 mins and then a whole body scan that was supposed to be 40 mins. On top of that was filling out the form, the wait for the other technician (late) and the time when they adapted the scanner for the second part. They said it would take an hour and a half for the whole thing but I think I was out a little under that.

I’m a bit claustrophobic, Fluffy.

Congrats on surviving the MRI.

A total disgrace that they didn’t offer tea.

I like tuna and sweetcorn. We don’t have that in the US.

^I like both tuna and sweetcorn but not together.

If you do have to have an MRI in the future kraftie there are open/wide ones for people with claustrophobia. Make sure you get one of those or at least get sedated. It was not as bad as I feared but then I'm not claustrophobic, I just don't like feeling trapped.

Some of them are but this is probably one of the more common ones so I'd get a couple of squid for it on ebay; it's more for fun. Mrs Tiggywincle was my favourite Potter character when I was little, and I've got five of the others characters so far.

It's starting to feel like Autumn where I live. Much cooler recently, which makes a welcome change from all the heat as of late. Also, our apples have ripened, which tends to happen in the Autumn.

We have two apple trees, and they certainly produce a lot of fruit! The typical amount per year is eighty to eighty four apples (not counting the ones that go bad).

Usually our supply of apples lasts until just before the start of the Christmas holidays.

The recent cooler weather has been a nice break but it looks like it will be warming up a bit next week here at least.

I don't think we will get the kind of heights we have been getting but autumn isn't here just yet - not in this garden.

My mum used to make a lovely apple pie.

Wish my cherries would learn to stay and ripen - it is still quite a young tree.

In Pembrokeshire for a week on holiday. One of my favourite parts of the UK.

What would you be looking for in another country that would please you most?

The UK is much more than London remember. Long slow days down on the coast in the westcountry, amazing countryside in Wales, stunning scenery and hills in Scotland. Or go look at all the castles and historic building we have here. Much of that is free or cheap to see.
I'm aware that the UK is more than London, and actually I would probably visit some place other than that.

I really loved my visit to Australia (wasn't in the big cities), probably because of the amazing flora and fauna there. Hot as hell when I went though. People there were quite friendly too.

There are a few Aussie friends of mine who've been to the UK and enjoyed their visit.

@Temeraire: Normally I like calm areas to go on holiday, but it really depends on the area where I'm going to. I'm fine with going on an active holiday as long as the people there are friendly enough (enjoyed my visits to Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy, for a few examples). London seems like somewhere that would be a bit stressful, probably because of the amount of noise and people there. Feels too crowded. Also capitals are a bit of a problem for me because:
1) my English is a bit poor.
2) I'm mute.
Often meeting new people is hard because they interpret my limited ability to communicate as being a form of rudeness, or they think I'm deaf.
I'm German, and I was also wondering where there would be an area outside of London with a good population of German tourists and/or expats. Just wondering.

There are some lovely spots in Wales and I like New Forest in southern England where ponies roam around free.
Somerset is quite a beautiful place to go and the south coast has lots to offer.

If it is flora and fauna you like I am sure some others on here could make some suggestions.

Not sure where German people go though, I can't help with this.

Britain is a small place and you don't have to travel far at all to see amazing countryside no matter where you are.

Something for everyone really.
