What to do when you run out of you.

I found out that my grandmother (my stepdad's mother) had a couple minor strokes and is in an assisted-living facility of sorts where there are medical personnel on the premises in case something else should happen.

That, and my dad is having problems with his arthritis (seems like he goes in for some kind of checkup or procedure every other day now) and his teeth, his memory isn't what it used to be, and he's rapidly losing weight.

It's weird...I've never had to think of anybody around me as being "old" and the accompanying issues that come with old age, but I am now...and I don't know what I can do to make things better.

Why is everyone important to me falling all apart right now?

That's something that almost all people will have to face eventually. It's just a matter of when. But it seems to be happening to you a bit early. Probably you weren't prepared for it. All you can do is to show that you care and to give as much practical help as you can.

What made me unhappy: the acute realization that I'm wasting myself. I've been vaguely aware of it but today I'm feeling it very intensely. I know I have to do something to stop wasting myself but it's really hard for an autistic person to realize his potential. What should I do?

It's only a matter of time before I'm homeless again. Maybe two months?

I had a seizure at work today. Complete with peeing my pants and vomiting all over the place. I am sure work will be fun tomorrow . . .

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope work are understanding, and you are not embarassed.

The cleaners might not like you though :P

A lot of people at work don't like me. I am a person who has the job of making sure that federal regulations are being followed. The cleaning people all like me, though, maybe because I treat them like people instead of servants? My boss is a very understanding person, tough, so it shouldn't be too bad.

I had a blood test today. I HATE needles, and the fact that this was at 7:30 in the morning made me thoroughly miserable.

On top of that, I'm still having problems with my insomnia, and the feeling that I'm unemployable, despite holding a degree.

I hope that you are feeling ok both physically and mentally. Something like that must be quite traumatic. It's a relief to hear that your boss is understanding.

I hate needles, too. But I think it will wake me up if I have it that early in the morning.

I share that feeling, too - I feel very unemployable despite holding a degree.

It has happened to me enough times that the trauma aspect doesn't get to me. It is mostly just embarrassing. First seizure at work with people around.

OK, maybe he doesn't. Sounds more like he is having a party. Anyway, still jealous.
