Not only did I play Diddy Kong Racing for the Nintendo 64 for the first time in years, I won on a lot of tracks that I had never played before, and against my friend that usually beats me at everything.

Small accomplishment, but it had a large impact on my otherwise unfortunate day. :)

Today, I got to see original paintings by van Gogh, Pechstein, Kirchner, Matisse, Munch, Vlaminck, Derain and other artists of "Brücke" and many more such as sculptures they've made in "Im Farbenrausch" (an art exhibition, official translation: "The Ecstasy of Colour", the name was surely justified, was there on the last day).
Three hours of enjoying modern, expressionistic art in the museum "Folkwang" in Essen, Germany (a short trip to get there as I went by train, just about 1/2 hour to 3/4 hour to get to the museum).
That was a BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE! I will never forget that day, I can't even name a favourite picture from the art exhibition, it was this awesome! :D

i had a good couple of days. i went to a sushi place with people from helem. they gave us free desert sushi. it was sooooo goood. it had dark chocolate and cream in it. the textures were amazing. one of us blurted out that we were all queer to the staff and it ended up being funny. they thought i was a boy and they were girls. and i love that when the song "beds are burning" came on i got to talk about aboriginal rights with them and their immediate reaction was "what they did to the aboriginal people was disgusting! and they have the nerve to call us arabs terrorists!". we went back to one of the guys places. he has a cat and he has old cameras. he has one from the 1800s! i got so excited. i got home at 2:30am and told gran it was 12:45.
and the day after helem had its new members orientation. i was allowed to go even though i can't be a member. i saw george azzi in real life. it was weird. he was a founder of helem. i've known about him for years but i have never seen him. weird. after i went with a few people and one introduced me to his family and when we were thinking of a "how we know each other" cover story we realised that i am distantly related to one of the people at helem- she comes from my village and everything! i am literally not the only queer in the village! we all went shopping for junk then hung out in the park and one of the guys sisters kept setting fire to marshmallows and feeding me them and it was like camping. apparently one of the guys i have been friends with for months thought i was straight despite conversations indicating i was not. i do not know if he was joking. then they dropped me off home and i had to sit on the lap of one of the guys i am crushing on because the car was so overloaded. the neighbours saw us. it was a little awkward. i expect gossip. hopefully they do not know who i am.

I knew more about something TV programming-related than my boss (at the TV station where I work) did! :P Nyah-nyah-nyah-nyah! I guess that makes all those years of student loan payments worth it.
