in junior high and high school I was in the pep band that always played at all the home games. I played tuba. a nice basso/mellow yet possibly stentorian horn. am glad there were none of those vuvuthingies in existence when I was there then. but I think I permanently lost a bit of my hearing from the pep band experience, from being surrounded by blaring horns and in echoey gyms with people's screams and yells blasting all around me.
that is quite scary. i know, i'd not want to be there either. along with playing in the home games, our band blasts their tunes in the annual pep rallies that are held the day before
the Big Game. that environment just isn't made for aspies it seems. simply too loud, even when i'm not in any band. it's usually better when it's outside in the stadium than the yes, echoey gym with clackety retractable bleachers. there's some that question the logic behind pulling us out of class just for these kinds of events that likely don't even raise amounts of pep. one said that the rallies pushes him to want to "engrave San Marcos onto my chest." (SM is our biggest rival)
i don't go to them. games or rallies.
