I wonder if I could be that wild child that The Doors sung about in the 60s. Not my mother's or my father's child.

"My name is A------ and I make dreams come true" (deadpan delivery, of course)

spicing your delivery with some steven wright-esque slightly warped deadpan humor here and there would be charming :wtg:

The director would probably find that funny (he's delightfully odd), some of my other bosses probably wouldn't :P .

steer a middle course.

I'm glad we all speak the same language:

Imagine if I came on here saying, “Hurdy gurdy gurdy” and “bork bork bork”.

No one would understand what the bloody hell I was talking about!

They are? This, I didn't know.
Dammit....now it seems like a fun word to say. See this is just like the dump trucks that have written on the back hatch "DO NOT PUSH." It never would have occurred to me to push it, but now I kind of want to.

it is a political reference, the GOP are still mad at the Dems for torpedoing the nomination to SCOTUS of extreme right-winger Robert Bork. so in political circles, to "bork" somebody is to torpedo their nomination to some government office somehow.

he was also a detective novelist, whose recurring protagonist in his series of quasi-pulp detective novels, was a man named "dick dork." I am not making this up. google it.
