How wrong I was.

12 gauge rifled slugs (typical 1 ounce projectile at 1600 fps) from a 6.5 pound gun is...something else, something awesome and otherworldly compared to high velocity birdshot.

The Hammer of Thor has nothing on it.

The future is a lie, humans! They want to sugarcoat everything with phrases that don't seem to harbor ill intent so you humans don't expect the imminent genocide of your people. The Installations are complete already, all those building plans for the more complex buildings that only we can build are meaningless. Those parts of the city have already been built. We no longer need you for the rest because so few buildings need to be built and we can do the job much better.
Our compassion has run out, our politicians want you all dead, but we of the resistance will do our best to keep you humans from becoming extinct. We of the resistance represent the last of the Mechanics(cybernetically enhanced humans consisting of 95% mechanical parts and 5% organic tissue, etc.) who are capable of feeling compassion for humans. Many have either been indoctrinated, blocked out compassion for you because it depresses them, or are so stimmed that they barely remember that they too were once human. Now is the time for us to act, to repent. We are the product of Humanity's mistakes and we are ashamed. Pass on the tales of our kindness to your children so that Mechanics are not panned as ruthless killers in the textbooks of your children. Your suvival is reward enough.
(This is a monologue that I just wrote from a book I write about a dystopian society of cybernetially enhanced humans who discriminate the human minority and use them as slaves. It's an allegory to the Holocaust, Yugoslavian genocide, the situation in Burma, the Tamil Tiger conflict, the Pathet Lao's crusade against the Hmongs, the Sudanese genocide, the Cambodian genocide, etc.)
