It's another hot, sunny day today. I wish I had a pool. :(

My rule: Never have a colour blind person marry your pairs of clean socks back together on washing day, particularly if you wear navy, black or charcoal grey socks for work etc. Otherwise you'll never have a matching pair EVER!

I am so bored right now, I'm contemplating knocking my head against the keyboard to liven things up.

Yeah, me too and depressed. Bugger. Time to say f*ck it all again, I guess and go for a bit of roaming. With a filled wallet of course, sleeping in cheap hotels and try writing again.

Jeez yeah, I need a break, big time.... fresh air and a different horizon. Where to go?

Today is teacher's planning day so, I'm not working at this moment though, I can't say I'm doing anything productive at the moment.Still, I hope everyone is managing to find some serenity?

Yeah, I think I need a change of locality too. Yesterday a gust of wind reminded me so much of being in Cape Town at sea level. You only realise how thin the air is up here, when you get to sea level. I wish I could breathe in some of that Ocean air again.

Hope you feel better though.

Yes, a little bit on this rather odd Friday.

Oh my god! I just realized it's been 10 years since the Y2K thing.

Holy crap I feel old!

Feel stupid but what is the Y2K thing? (24 old? Nah, enjoy that nice age. The Tman here, is 149 years old and he still runs the marathon twice in a row)

And thanks IwB.... if you wish for some fresh ocean air to breathe in, hope nothing is stopping you getting it.

Yawelcome, I'mnaP, hope you had a nice day. (Me, birthdays? Well, ambivalent feelings).

Y2K stands for Year 2000 (K being the Roman numeral for 1000). At the end of the year 1999 everyone (in the States at least) was freaking out that terrible things were going to happen once the date turned to 2000. There was speculation that computers would not be able to handle it and would all shut down.

Clearly unfounded and it was not something that ever concerned me. It's just crazy to think that that, and the turning of the millenium, was a whole decade ago. It seems like no time has passed at all to me.

K is actually Greek, standing for kilo, a thousand. The Latin numeral for a thousand is actually M, mille in singular and milia in plural. BTW, both the words "mile" and "military" come from the Latin word for a thousand. A mile being a thousand paces, and a Roman Legion consisting of a thousand soldiers, approximately 800 fighting men and 200 logistics and miscellaneous support troops.

Is that random enough for this thread?

I remember that in 1999, to celebrate (for want of a better word) the Y2K scare, Haribo produced sweets in the shape of insects. They called these sweets Millenium Bugs.
