Actually, there's a book in the library called WTF crochet.
There's some very horrific (as in blood and guts) type crochet out there.

When I was a kid I'd sit in the backyard for hours alone making little villages out of grass and sticks for my Bionicle matoran villagers. It got pretty intense, rival villages making war on each other and whatnot.

I liked making boats (big leaves and whatever else what lying around) and lakes (for the boats and for my tadpoles :) ). Not all of my sailors survived their voyages.
