Oh, and CockneyRebel... keep on keepin on about the Kinks! Go with who you are and shame on anyone who tries to say anything else to you. I think it is great when people make a deep, meaningful connection with people, things, ideas, whatever... it is a trait I find admirable. I think your connection goes beyond connection, so I have no words... I do not want to lessen what you feel... but I find that more admirable than more superficial connections. I find it beautiful.

Thanksgiving.... this is going to be a long day. Wish I could just hide in my room/sleep the day away/stay on the computer and block everything/one out.... but I highly doubt people will/would let me.

How to have fun during your orchestral rehearsal: wrong notes.

1. Tranpose everything up or down by a semitone.

2. Switch notes. When you see the tonic, play the leading note, and vice versa.

3. Never play anything in the correct octave.

Expression: Either wildly exaggarate your dynamics, or ignore them.

Tuning: If the conductor tunes everyone but you because she knows that you are capable of knowing whether you are in tune, play horribly flat. Then horribly sharp.

Being immature: find innuendo in the conductor's every statement. Snigger at it.

Note: you will only get away with this if you are a good musician who is valued by the orchestra and if you can do it without disrupting the rehearsal.

There have been a couple of strange incidents lately with my Aspie mom accidentally (?) inhaling toxic stuff while cleaning the house. Is she more or less consciously trying to kill herself ? Oh God....
