I've been playing Bejeweled trying to catch up to the top score.

I can remember when 'extreme weather events' were called 'storms'.

my puppet's right arm broke again, at the elbow joint.

this wire is total shite, i swear. her last arm wires were one single "ply", and they withstood at least 5 times the amount of posing before giving in.

might be a good excuse to learn making ball and socket joints, if i can scrape together the materials.

everyone, wish us luck in navigating this medical nightmare. one like = one prayer.

we can't make it without your help.

it's steel wire. i also have brass wire, less resistant to breaking, but much stiffer and tends to bend slightly to the original position when posed.

the last wire i used was a blend of tin and antimony. it was sitting in the back of our tool shed. i can't find something like it at the hardware store.

You can get annealed aluminum wire which has 0 memory (doesn't spring back when bent).
It's very soft but seems to hold its shape well.
Have you ever used heat-shrink on your armatures?

Ornstein and Smough weren't actually that hard as long as you moved around the arena and waited for Ornstein to move far enough away from Smough so you could get some hits in on the former, then move around again until the same situation happens. Or, running hits on Smough after the same moving around to separate them. They're overrated.

Manus gave me way more trouble in comparison.

We've got rain. Probably the tail end of your extreme weather event.

P.S.

Not that I care but I believe you guys beat us in the state of origin the other night (heard it at work). Congrats :)

It's bucketing down here.

Believe me, I care as much about the Steak and Oranges as you do.

Was the tree (in your avatar) also giving you trouble? :rambo:

I've finally realised after forty something years what it is about washing up that I don't like.

Getting my hands wet

Gloves are a wonderful invention.

It sometimes takes a long time for things that are bothering me for me to realise just what it is that's bothering me.

Like, when I'd go to school with a jumper on (because the mornings were cold) and I'd get home in the hot afternoon, red faced and Mum used to ask me, "Aren't you hot?" and I'd say, "Yes" and she'd say, "Why didn't you take your jumper off?" and I'd say, "I didn't think of it."
