Same reason why some insecure NTs with self-esteem issues bully others with the same issues. Isn't that ironic too?

Freedom to do what you want without government interference is appealing to people who have been punished for being different their whole lives. And there is the empathy thing we are said to lack.

Why humans think electric cars are going to solve the global warming problem.

out of sight out of mind, and cars are always in sight, so if *they're* globe-healthy, the rest of everything must be as well

Being obsessed with Valentine's day and having a romantic date on this particular day.

Yeah, yeah -- I get the 'I don't wanna be alone' schtick. But that's precisely why I don't get it.

I have no sympathy towards any singles who stresses out about Valentine's day.

Electric cars move the pollution from the exhaust pipe to the smokestack of the power plant. But the pollution coming out of the smokestack is easier to control than that of the exhaust pipe. And power plants can by hydroelectric, nuclear, or wind, etc.

I don't get why there are so MANY songs about romantic love but so few about food :? Everybody eats, usually multiple times every day of their lives. But lots of people go through stretches of many years without experiencing romantic love & bit of people never experience it.

Yes, and when there are food songs they're classed as kid's songs.

I don't get why it's socially inappropriate to listen to kid's songs, that are actually centuries old and usually have eerie or disturbing stories behind them and actually used to be songs everyone sung at one point.

The aura of romantic love sells….food just doesn’t evoke that sort of aura.

Popular music….whether in the US, Egypt, or Botswana, is about 3-quarters romantic-love based. Mainly about romantic striving for the unattainable.

Then again....I don't understand how Bob Dylan became so popular. He went against the grain. He wrote about romance....but certainly not "romantically." And he had a pretty horrible singing voice when he didn't try to have a decent singing voice.

The notable exception to this are the food songs by Weird Al Yankovic. He is considered comedy music which is a genre stereotyped for dorks like me  :nerdy:

That does make sense.
Almost all the songs I hear on that radio that are not about romantic love are about sex, drinking, drugs, politics, loving the country, or about the ghetto.
I think Bob Dylan is overrated.

Ebay. I don't get Ebay. Whenever I sell things on Ebay, I am disappointed by the value they achieve. Whenever I try to buy anything on Ebay, the bids go way above what I consider a reasonable price.

I was just looking for a piece of technology second hand on Ebay and people are bidding MORE than the brand new retail price for an identical piece of second hand tech. I can literally pay less and get a brand new product delivered tomorrow with a warranty from the manufacturer's website.

I. Don't. Get. Ebay.

Usually songs about food are classified as kids songs, or as novelty songs. There are exceptions.

PINTEREST

I don't have an account so maybe that's why it seems so stupid to me, but any time I'm in Google Images and I click something from Pinterest it's absolutely useless. Takes about four clicks just to open the picture and see what it says, and then the writing is either cut off or it says absolutely nothing of value like where to buy it, what it really is, whether it's hand-made, or even for sale. Then I find if I close the picture or change tabs it disappears and I can't find it again in my history or the tab or anywhere even with the same key words. If I try to take a screenshot of the picture or save it, it comes out as a web page and not jpeg. It seems like the stupidest, most annoying site in existence and doesn't give me one iota of interest in joining. Is that what they call clickbait?

Clickbait usually refers to videos or articles with misleading and/or anger inducing titles.

Pinterest is just a social media site for people pin images that might inspire ideas. I also don't have an account so I share your hate when pictures I want are only available on it.

That said, usually all I need to do is right click and open link in new tab, then in the new tab right click and open image in new tab and there's the picture and Robert is your mother's brother.

Thanks. I may or may not have tried that since I know I click many times and keep reopening images.

Do they get money every time someone does that, or is the idea that we'll get so annoyed we end up joining just to see if the macrame plant hanger really exists or it's a figment of our imagination?

I don't imagine they'd be making money. Afaik people being shown ads is the main way clicks translate to earnings.

I don't get why they'd want to make content hosted there so hard to access, unless it's sorta like Facebook where they want you to sign-in and they want tracking cookies to harvest data in hopes of showing you ads you'll be more interested in (among things).
