It was nice weather this afternoon, snow on the ground and sun in the sky, so I thought I should leave this chair and go do something outside. Needed socks and went to a department store.... but to make a boring story a tad shorter.... I bought the socks, other stuff, but the cashier/cash-girl forgot to deactivate the anti-thievery-strip on the package so when I walked out of said store a quite loud alarm went off. A manager came rushing towards me. I stayed calm, 8) even, and he was friendly when I showed him the coupon. He said sorry, deactivated the things I purchased and.. humteedumteedum.. I walked out eating my freshly bought croissant.

(man, what a fascinating life I lead)

That happened to me in a DIY store after buying some tools. I just stood there looking baffled and the manager came and deactivated the offending item. It was only when I got home and looked at the receipt that I realised I'd been too keen taking things off the conveyor belt and had put the item in my bag before the cashier had chance to scan it and deactivate it. So I accidentally got it for free.

Little Si
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Elevation 1,576 feet (480 m)
Location Washington, USA
Range Cascades
Little Si is a hill in the US state of Washington, named after its taller neighbor, Mount Si. It has an elevation of 1,576 feet (480 m), or 1,053 feet (321 m) above its base.[1] It lies on the western margin of the Cascade Range just east of the town of North Bend. Little and Big Si were named after local homesteader Josiah "Uncle Si" Merritt.

Little Si is a distinct mountain peak from Mount Si, with a different trailhead and a valley that separates the two peaks. The Little Si trailhead is at approximately 47°29′14″N 121°45′12″W / 47.48722°N 121.75333°W / 47.48722; -121.75333.[2] The hike up to the top is an easy hike that the whole family can do. The trail climbs up from the parking lot and then levels out and goes through the slot between Mt. Si and Little Si. The final climb is from the north side up to the top.[3]
Little Si is also known for its rock climbing and bouldering.

I dread having to go to this pre-xmas family gathering party. They play this stupid ornament game, and I don't care anything about ornaments, especially when most of them are stupid looking and/or effeminate. I'll also be the only atheist at the table. Ugh. The things we put up with for a free meal.

I don't know if my phrasing or spelling is right, because it has been a few years since I wrote or said anything in German, but I'll give it a go. Ich habe gesundigt, and Ich bin vergeben.

the subtlety of the nuanced hues of phrasing of the particular style of metaphor employed within the local idiom
