something that made me happy today was that my roof was not blown off by the gale force winds that persisted for about 9 hours blowing past my house.

the wind speed in my location was between 85 kph and 140 kph.
it sounded like an amplified freight train.
so my house still stands with no damage, and i trust it much more than when i first moved in.

I found a Yahoo! News interview with Josh Gad (an actor doing the voice of Olaf the snowman in Disney's upcoming movie Frozen) and he said in his interview that he took his two-year-old daughter to see Monsters University and the teaser trailer for Frozen (which happened to feature Olaf in it) played before the movie, and when his daughter saw Olaf, she got all excited and exclaimed, "Daddy! Daddy! I want more Daddy!"

That's just the cutest thing I'd heard all day. :D

I ate at the Chinese Super Buffet this afternoon. It was excellent, as usual. Those guys are really good cooks.

I got a tour of Iron Mountain's Hollywood facility today. They have some pretty nifty technology and they have taken care to keep a number of the 1920s architectural features of the building in tact. Maybe I can convince them to let me do some architectural photography there some day. It would be neat to duplicate a shot taken in the 1940s from the roof of that building that shows the street cars that used to go down Santa Monica blvd.
