Oh...

So I figured that out really slowly because I am really stupid but I think I understand completely what you are saying Kuraudo777 and why you say it. I'll shut up and change the topic here in a minute but let me say that laws are created with a larger picture in mind. What looks to be a bad thing may have in fact been to prevent something worse. You have to consider where thoughts and actions can lead in societal terms.

Now since I promised to change the topic, lets rock out.

Cool. What do you like to paint or draw? How did you learn?

What prevents me? The deep shame. Some people manage to breake out of it somehow, I don't think that gives anyone the right to judge those who don't.

That must be a horrible feeling. About the judgment, I agree. Don't get me started about people who judge, especially when they don't have a clue what they're judging.

Good advice, and you're not a hypocrite.

I'm sorry that the BBC feature was depressing for you. Maybe I shouldn't have posted it in this thread. The story could have focused more on the inspirational side.

I usually paint or draw still life and landscapes/seascapes. I'm self-taught. In the beginning I borrowed books on the library. Alwyn Crawshaw has some good books for beginners I think. Then in time I studied other paintings I like, and tried to copy to some degree a few of them. I also learn through experimenting :) Unfortunately I have some problems with my back, so I haven't done it much lately.

I'm not sure how I'm feeling. I want to chat with ppl but I don't know what to chat about. In the past when I felt this way I used to text everyone and say I don't like them even though I do because i dont know what to chat about amd i dont want to make small talk.and I feel it's strange that they know me and can reply and I wonder how theyfeel and think about things and if they mind me chatting to them.

Do you paint scenes from your real life? From books? From your own head? How do you decide what to paint/draw?

That's awful about your back problem interfering with your art. :( I hope you find some relief.

I use scenes from my real life. The last years I've only used photos I have taken myself as referance, but I often add something from my imagination. There are some beautiful landscapes around here I live.

I've had to go from painting to mostly drawing (especially in the winter) because my nose and eyes started reacting to pigments and solvents. That was a tough transition, going from colours to black and white, but it is still much better then doing neither.

So what gives your life meaning?

That must be really awesome to have beauty where you live, especially since you're an artist, Froya. :) Please forgive me for this question, because as a blind person, I know nothing of visual art. Why can't you draw in color?

I find deep discussions meaningful because I enjoy when I can understand people and be understood on a deeper level. My work is meaningful when I think of how it affects others, and I also get satisfaction from the writing process itself.

When I'm by myself, I feel understood when I listen to music that really resonates with me. Also, I find that learning can be meaningful. Even sci-fi can be meaningful when it makes me think deeply about real issues.
