It's Guy Fawkes Night here, I can hear them going off as I type!

What exactly is Guy Fawkes night? I've heard of it but can't remember what it was about.

It is to commemorate Guy Fawkes being arrested for trying to blow up the House of Parliament (or Lords I'm not sure). They are bonfires aswell and it is not unusual for there to be an effigy of Fawkes burnt on it.

Thinking about it, it is all a bit strange to be honest!

It almost sounds like you're celebrating terrorism.

Things are fine here. It feels like a typical fall day except that the sun is shining and there is not a single cloud in the sky.

I wish it was 20 degrees warmer but oh well. How is the weather there? How far are you from the sea? I'm sure that would make things chilly and breezy.

Yes here it feels a bit chillier today than it has been the last couple of days. We could do with some of your sunshine though. Ah I wish I was near the sea but I live about 30 mins from it. I dream of being able to look out from a window onto it one day!

A house on the beach would be perfect! Hmm, do scarecrows work with seagulls because I think I might get sick of hearing them after a while.
