Venus. Don't give me lip, it's true. I hated it growing up. Rhymed with that body part. Now people ask me "where's Serena?" or something equally stupid. Sometimes they serenade me a song. They ask " do you know this one" lalala. Duh! Heard it all my life. Sing me something I haven't heard, i.e. "shinny, shinny, shinny boots of leather (Venus in Furs), but not one person has ever sang me that.

My name is incredibly unique, certainly when compared to the rest of the members. i know for certain no else has this name. So i guess it'll remain a secret (except to a few).

You'd be surprised how many people in mainland Britain don't know about the name when, for example, it comes up in a crossword. I've had people act very surprised when I tell them I know the answer. :)

I agree, I love the name Venus. It's my daughter's nickname.

Shayna (pronounced Shay-na.... I'm not sure WHY this is difficult.. I've come across shaina's before which I understand. but serisouly, how many ways can you pronounce shayna? I don't even remember all the ways I"ve heard it pronounced...Definitely Shawna is the most common. anyways....

for the etymologists,
it's yiddish for beautiful.

Which I thought was awesome cause the story about how I got my name is that I didn't let me parents know if they were having a boy or girl until I was born. Everyone told mom that I'd be a boy. When it turned out I was a girl, Shane became Shayna, which my mother thought was original. So several years later when I found out that it meant beautiful, it was a secret hidden gift to me in my opinion and I became obsessed with looking up what different names meant.
