tattoos and/or piercings?

It seemed to work: here
Instead, he was etching to do it differently - and so he had the proposal TATTOOED across his shoulders.
Luckily for Alex, 28, the romantic £145 body art worked and a delighted Caroline Summers said Yes.
IMHO it would have the same impact as throwing a brick through her window with a message with that question attached to it.

i don't have any tattoos. my interests change too fast and so it's too permanent. but i like how some tattoos look and i enjoyed watching someone get one done.
how about you?
I have the same problem. I've been wanting to get some tattoos for a while now, but the biggest problem is money, I'm not financially stable yet. Plus my interests change a lot, I'll start liking something, get SUPER obsessed with it, then totally forget it even exists after about a week. So I'm afraid getting a tattoo will be too permanent. I do love tattoos though.
As for piercings, the only one I have is my nose, and I think it's FINALLY healed after about 6 months, I had this wierd bump around it, but it finally disappeared. I don't know about piercings for me though, I think they would stand out too much on me.
When I was about 15/16 I had an obsession with body piercings and had about 70 in total. I grew out of it and I only have three which I wear any jewellery in now. I've never had the desire to have a tattoo though, partly because I'd be worried that I'd get something tattooed on me that I would later regret because of my tendency to develop obsessions and then move on to something else after a while.

Please excuse the butt-in answer, but in my case, I've let several piercings heal up. There is a small dot on my left ear cartilage where I used to have a 2g ring, but it's barely visible after 3 or 4 years healing up. Larger piercings (0ga and bigger, more or less), don't usually close up on their own. If you want to get rid of the hole, you need to have a doctor excise (cut out the edges of the hole), and stitch it closed. That sounds bad, but it's no big deal. Just a shot of novocaine, and a 5-minute procedure in the dr's office. I have two holes from piercings that I don't wear anything in, but I haven't bothered to have them closed up. They don't show in public anyway

i wondered because i want to get more piercings (as does my 16 y.o. daughter), but don't want to have too much scarring as my job is not stable and i will likely need to get other employment in future.on my hand, if the piercing closes up and i get scarred, it will be camouflaged amongst other scars.
my girl and i are going to a body mod convention in a month! i am excited to see the work people have gotten done, and what the trends are. i'm really new to this stuff, but i am fascinated.

I got a tattoo at 48 (Jeez...12 years ago!) an unauthorized interpretation of the Isshinryu (karate) insignia/patch/symbol. Covers at least half my back, maybe a little more. Since I can't see it most of the time I forget it's there. Rising from the sea surrounded by a ring of fire is a half woman/half sea serpent with one hand overhead in a closed fist symbolizing power and the other hand downward open as if holding back the sea symbolizing peace. Most of the sea serpent is underwater symbolizing hidden power. A dragon flies over her head, it represents wisdom and spirituality and also the founder of the system, Shimibuku, whose nickname was "Dragon Boy."
The patch worn on student uniforms shows the woman's breasts covered. My woman is topless. I could not see the logic in that, why would a creature of the sea wear a top? I wanted the breasts small, like my wife's. She wanted them bigger, and the tattoo artist_also a woman with small ones like my wife_ agreed. But they are a natural size, maybe a B and a bit.
Regrets? None. But I did get it late.
My wife had gotten one on her shoulder, a tiger and some irises. When she saw the layout on my back she said "Mine's too small!" She spent over twenty hours in the chair adding more tigers and flowers and a black panther just over her butt in a nice flow from her right shoulder downward. Mine only took about 11 hours.

big cats with irises sounds beautiful for a tattoo. i like tattoos that cover a large part of a person's body.
good point about the breasts. i also always thought mermaids with bra tops, for example, were silly.
if you feel comfortable, feel free to include pics. i am very interested in seeing people's tattoos!
