When I was 10 I gave my dad an oral, made-up-as-I-went-along multiple-choice quiz about the Titanic to see if he knew enough about it!

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

Autism Speaks will NEVER speak for me

CLASSIC AUTISM

When I watch a TV series on DVD I have to watch a whole disk at a time. Sometimes I have to watch a whole season in a day on the weekend.

Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Witch Hunter Robin - 13 hours each not counting bathroom and meal breaks.

OMG. I was laughing about that for like half an hour.

My parents accuse each other of using each other.

Oops, wrong thread! I thought this was the "random truth about your parents" thread...

I've done the same stim for about 17 years.

I analyze graffiti on the streets, freeway, etc.., deciphering every symbol and letter then finding other spots where this person has been.

I've beaten and conquered Final Fantasy 7 in every way possible.

The sound of crushing styrofoam makes me angry and grouchy. Same with balloons rubbing.

"We are the champions, my friends" topic

It took me an hour to get through the posts as my computer kept freezing, and it is not due to the weather.

I kept myself busy think about the Queen song, as suggested by the name I gave to this topic.

Stims help ease the boredom, but the posts were very interesting. Except for video games (I only liked playing scrabble), all the other listed obsessions/traits/behaviours sound familiar at one time or another.

At the speed my computer is working, I will be hours doing a single post. Oh well, more time to analyze, and I can catch up on reading and studying my special interests.

I love maps and plans and any kind too. Underground maps, Google Earth, anything.

I never look into other peoples drawers or cupboards or things on their desk but if I see a plan poking out of a pile of papers, I have to take it out and look at it.

I would draw plans of children's hospital floors. Because I was interested in children's hospitals.

- My first words were "mother, you dropped a piece of macaroni on the linoleum".

- I have conversations with myself on a daily basis.

- I often hear sounds that no-one else can.

- I am re-learning old english for fun.

- I design amplifiers for my own personal amusement.

- I built an AM radio when I was 8.

- I built a ham radio when I was 9.

- When I see objects, I often look for design flaws.

I was obsessed with the Titanic when I was 10 and would draw pictures of what I wanted the cabins to look like-- second class, third class, etc. Bunks, sinks, other stuff in the cabins.

- I knew the history of the Roman Empire by the time I was 10.

- I could draw an accurate schooner, caravel, clipper, or galleon when I was 12.

- I often imagine myself in another time.
