But, this thread already existed and had become unstickied - so it lives again!
Aww. I was also wanting to recommend a pets and animals forum, sad that it won't be an option. Between the special interest aspect, the service animal aspect, and the general focus on pets with autism, it feels like it'd be really good if it can be formed at some point.
It would be nice to see some discussion on the wider aspects or care of pets here too - their feeding, training, wellbeing etc. plus any useful tips other members may have.

However, at least lots of cute pictures! To add to them.
And lots more pictures, of course!

QFT. I think I asked for such a forum some time back. For some of us animals are our only family and friends. I read one article not long ago about how horse riding can improve children and adults with autism and other disorders. Thought it was an interesting since as one who use to take a class on horse riding, I found a lot of truths to it for me personally.

In a few months or more may get a pet and would like a small dog. Do like cats as well. In the past when I was growing up we had a lhasa apso and she was a good companion.
In a few months I may pet sit so may hold off on getting a dog. In the past did pet sit for a friend and took care of a cat and a lizard type of animal who ate bugs every few days. Really do not want any cold blooded animals as pets.

These are my ducklings, Jack and Jill! :D
They look redder than they actually are because of the brooder light. Also, I had fun editing it in Photobucket. The options they have are pretty cool, although not as effective as Photoshop. I had to put my computer back to factory settings and haven't gotten around to getting everything back together.

Anyways, enjoy!

I had a cat named Tammy once. Well, she was long gone, but she didn't really left me. She left me Tia her new born kitty.
-Tammy-- I'll always keep her in my heart.

Awww I remember in preschool we looked after eggs in a kind of warm egg holding container that would keep it warm before they hatched in place of they're mother. It was fun. The eggs looked like they had veins under the light and I also heard this chirping noise from within the egg like they were dying to come out.

I am owned by two bengal cats.

Right now I have two girls, Rapunzel and Dolly.

This is Rapunzel. She is a retired queen and a brown rosetted bengal F8 in generation.

She looks sweet but she can be a bit unpredictable and sometimes dangerous. She was an ex queen when I got her, so she exhibits a lot of wild behaviour that I have not been able to train out of her. She's fine unless you pick her up, but as soon as you do she will bite and claw.

I also have a snow marble bengal queen called Dolly. Dolly is an F3.

Dolly also exhibits a lot of wild behaviour but has trained well and responds well to voice commands. Sadly she also marks a lot even though she is fixed.

Here they are enjoying their afternoon nap. They sleep all day and then around 10pm all hell breaks loose.

Part 2.

My love for bengal cats began with my first bengal. I was given him as a wedding present when I lived in the USA. Cucking Fat (from the carry on movie, pronounced cooking fat) was an F1 marble male.

Here he is at 13 weeks and already bigger than both of my girls.

And then he grew.

And grew.

Image

Until he was so large and wild that we had to let him live outside on the farm. He was very large and clumsy and used to rip down the curtains. Here I am holding him :)

I have also rehomed numerous semi wild cats. The last one was Jasmine, who is a Savannah Bengal cross. She is also quite wild and naughty.

Image

But just as cute when she's sleeping !

Your cats are beautiful, Blackholesun!
I used to really want a bengal when I was little, but could never afford to get the kind of colouration I really wanted.

Krista is looking super comfy! I wish I was better at editing photos.

They are valued literally on the colours and markings. Both of my girls are retired queens. This comes with its caveats however as they have some bad habits that I can't train out of them. Dolly pees on the sofa when she would have been in heat, even though she is fixed.

And Rapunzel? she can be very unpredictable and wild. If you pick her up she immediately goes for your face and her claws are like razorblades.

It's a matter of luck really. Some of them are super friendly and exhibit typical bengal like behaviour, others are more akin to their wild counterpart (the asian leopard cat).
