Personally, I think the most that could happen is belated Y2K. And that is extremely doubtful.

The most recent research has demonstrated conclusively that the Large Hadron Collider will definitely destroy the earth.

Here's the proof:

Well, if it does happen, can they put it off another week? I've got something I want to do later in the week. :)

Hmm, I see my therapist that day....

Could you change the word "does" into "doesn't"?

To the End of the Earth topic

Look on the bright side...

No more global warming, over population, poverty, unemployment, Autism Speaks, Michael Savage, John Best, Osama bin Laden.

There is a silver lining in that particle accelerator's cloud...  :skull:

...but Parakeet's physics convinced me of the earth's longevity. Newton and Einstein and even Hawking would be proud.

It's ok,the panic's over. The Large Hadron Collider is only being started up on the 10th.
It will take months of tests before they are ready to collide particles together. It may even
take years until it's working at full capacity.Maybe around 2012,you know the year that
the Mayans said the world will end. Oh,wait a minute.....

If you are outside the UK you will not be able to use bbc.co.uk/torchwood for rights reasons.

I wondered about that.

According to BBC Radio 4 itself, where the program will be transmitted, it seems to say that you should be able to listen to the live streamed audio outside the UK.

It does say that you must use MS Media player or Real Audio.

The program is on a 2:15pm on Wednesday. (That's 13:15 UTC).
