Pretentious people who get a rise out of giving others a hard time. I've dealt with two pretentious people this week. One on Thursday and one this morning.

Fruit.

It spends months in storage before making it to grocery store shelves and by the time you buy it, it's just days away from getting moldy.

I do have plenty of warm and fuzzy memories from the 70s and 80s, but the way gen x people have been going on about it lately has made it cringy and painful. Going on about how they used to be spanked or practically forced to live outdoors until the lights came on like it was a good thing. Yeah, pain, fear and discomfort were really fun. So was the adults constantly smoking around me when I was a kid.

Even the good stuff just makes me feel worse about the way the world is now. I think it's called declinism.

When I was spanked it was inevitably deserved.
I can't say that about teachers giving me the strap/cane/ruler, but corporal punishment helped make me the model citizen I am today.

(Someone call an ambulance.... There are way too many people rolling on the floor)

^ Personally, I think most nudists think being nude all the time is okay because they have "great bodies", but if someone is flabby or wrinkly, forget it.

Time was I'd agree with that ^^^
While living in the middle of a forest I've grown from beanpole to blimp.
Summer has always been too hot for clothes here, but since nobody can see us does the extra 20kg really matter?

Reality. In a fantasy world, I would look like Mick Avory and I'd use an avatar that reflects these times. A lot of things from the 60s reflect the present nicely now that there's another hippie movement going on.

People laughing at me when I'm being serious and wasn't even trying to be funny.

Of course, it's even worse when they know I wasn't trying to be funny.

People who talk about something like an episode of a TV show they saw in 2008 and then they groan, "Uuuugh, I'm so old!". How old were they back in 2008? 10? 12, maybe?

I remember when the first Star Wars movie was just called Star Wars, how old do these younglings think I feel?
