The temperature crossed the line between "cold" and "chilly, but can still be comfortable." It is 51 degrees.

Lots of assorted happy things have happened in the past few days:

- My stepmom went to visit friends out of state so it was just my dad and I this weekend - seems like that hasn't happened in forever

- The two of us went to a sort of interpretive dance-ballet on Friday night, and on Saturday we went to this really cool flea market that we've been going to for years. it's this really neat place that's got a lot of cool memorabilia/knick-knacks/toys from literally every era - it literally pushes every conceivable nostalgia button. :D I found a vintage Wild Thing plush and a Chococat plush for my roommate (she likes cats). :D After that my dad and I went to Barnes and Noble and I got to sit down and read the "Elements of Harmony" making-of book for MLP:FiM while Arcade Fire played on the muzak. :D Basically all the stuff that my stepmom disapproves of/is bored to death by, we did.

- On Sunday, my roommate got her financial aid stuff straightened out with the bursar, so she doesn't have to move out after all! Hooray! :D Turns out that it was the school bursar's office screwing up, and it wasn't her fault.

- Yesterday, I had a really good advising appointment...my adviser in the English dept. is really sweet, and I'm always in a better mood after talking to her. :D I also got to see a friend of mine that I haven't seen in forever (she used to look after me when I was about 9, and now she works at my school), and yesterday was also Plush Animal Lovers' day. :D

- I found a bunch of Seven Little Monsters episodes on Youtube - I know what I'm doing tonight! :D

I became a published author for the first time! I work in scientific research and the abstract that I co-authored has been published! Had me dancing around my office.
