Oh, you mean like that thing at the bottom of my screen?

Sometimes when I go back a page in a thread, the spot where that thing on the bottom is would just go black, but it wouldn't happen outside Safari. :|

HEY, GUESS WHAT EVERYONE!

Work has been running this competition for over the past 6 months called "The National Innovation Competition" where, if you've done something that has increased productivity and made a difference to work, your boss can nominate you to be in the competition. It's nation wide - ALL OF AUSTRALIA!

My boss nominated me for the program I've been developing for over the past 2 years. My program can do 11 times more work than a person can do manually.

There were 351 candidates Australia wide and... I WON IT!!

I get my own team of people to help develop it (if they can find anyone else in the Department who can program) and I've got to fly down to Canberra in December to receive my award.

Maybe the positives of being an Aspie DO outweigh the negatives :)))

Wow, congrats! That's an awesome accomplishment!

Also, I thought I'd weigh in a bit on the nostalgia. I used to louve Oregon Trail too, and I could do pretty much everything except hunt. :D Never played Dungeons and Dragons though I've played variants of it. Game of Life is cool, Battleship is especially cool, I'd enjoy playing it even today. How about Apples To Apples? Or Bop-It? Or Memory?

DCJ, I hope the burglars didn't steal anything too important. :( What a horrible day! Hope today was better.

Kuraudo, try and hang in there for classes, and feel better soon.

Oh man, wishing I could sleep for twelve plus hours instead of having choking fits every hour or two. :tired:

Well I can't see a difference to be honest but there were legal documents everywhere and some of them had my social security number on it :?

Its 12:30 AM and my neighbor is scratching at the wall, high traffic in the hallway and someone tried to open my door a minute ago when I posted the above. I took everything of value into the bedroom and am hiding basically.

Its a complex issue really. Its terrifying really, I don't know what to make of it and it has triggered some PTSD it seems.

Anyway I am taking my pepper spray and my knife and I am going to bed, they might can get in the front door but they are going to have a hell of a time getting in the bedroom.

^ you gotta get outta that place.

On a side note, I don't know anyone around here who has a house with a basement.
Teenagers get shoved out to live under the house (not a closed in area - usually only lattice or palings), a verandah, an old caravan or a shed.

I wrote this if you want to read it but I decided against posting it but then I decided I didn't care and now I am confused :P

So here it is,

I think its an internal problem that has compounded into a general security problem...

Here is the deal, someone broke a key in my apartment's keyhole when I originally filed a police report and bailed, they said it was bump key and this seemed reasonable since someone tried to "break in" while I was here but that looks to be a random drunken idiot unrelated to the key. When maintenance removed the broken key from my door and gave it to me, I looked and it was not a bump key, it was an original. When I brought attention to this, the apartment complex told me that, as I said, that the incident with the idiot at my door and the key were not related. Which kinda of makes since cause if the person know that door was unlocked, he would have probably just came in. The apartment complex said that it was mistake from the maintenance workers that working on the air conditioner, but everytime I have left after this event, which has been three times, my door has been unlocked.

I shouldn't have let it slide but I did and I figured I just make a mistake and didn't lock it but I made a note last time of locking it and when I came home from Therapy yesterday someone left the door completely open and my stuff was everywhere in the living room, Safe in bedroom. I can't find anything missing but they dug through some very sensitive documents and I have no idea what they were after. How it has compounded is just like the fact the person didn't realize there was a key that unlocked my door lodged in my keyhole, there may have been a number of people that did and I am worried without a replacement lock that anyone in this building could have removed it and copied it

I feel very unsafe :?

I am wondering if I can be evicted by changing the lock myself, do they have a legal leg to stand on by me denying them a key?

^ meh, I've been trying to reply to this for about an hour.
My brain doesn't work when I'm tired.
I wanted to say, you would have to inform the landlord that you wanted to change the lock and she would have to agree.
You need a bump proof lock.
Whew.
My ret*d brain is ret*d.

Her angry outbursts are scary, but I geuss I don't have any room to talk since I do it myself... Also, she's just too cute not to love her, even though she is probably a 100% Pokeshipper...

Still, Orangeshipping FTW!

A tech friend of mine told someone their computer needed more power and told them to switch from 120v to 240v on the PSU back when they had a switch, obviously blew up.
