how do you know when you buy a tape measure from a shop, whether it is accurate?
i suppose you have to go to another shop and buy a different brand of tape measure and then come back to measure the tape measure you wish to buy.

but what if the 2 tape measures do not agree with each other??

so off to another shop one must go to buy another tape measure that is yet a different brand, and then come back and measure both tape measures to see which one of them is wrong.

bloody hell.... what if both of them are wrong.

that means all 3 of them may be wrong!! !! !

one could go insane if that was the case.

my cat's official name is "pumpkin mctaggart", but i usually call her "dumpling"

when she annoys me i say "oh dumps, don't do that"
i also abbreviate her real name to "pumps" if i am happy with her.

when she sits in front of my face demanding attention while i am at my desk playing a game, i move my mouth close to her ears and i say "she's a funny little PUMPKIN DUMPLING" and the sound of that makes her ears flick and she scratches them and hops off the desk.

what a good little girl.

here is a gravely bad social interaction (final thought i will write tonight) where in i try to compliment a woman but wind up insulting her as a by-product,

a woman with long legs is at the bar waiting to be served and you say to her "wow, your legs are so long that your stockings would need an extension ladder to render them useless"

apart from the confusion of that situation, she may think that "if there was a ladder in my stocking that led up to my vagina, you would consider it useless?!?!?"
