I am typing while enjoying bowl of fried rice topped with orange-glazed chicken. Really tasty. Anyways, I just got the hang of using chopsticks today. I've been out of practice for a while, but I was suprised at how quickly I re-mastered the technique.

Anyone else use chopsticks a lot?

Chopsticks are hard sometimes, but it makes eating more fun lol, didn't took me too long to learn. Seemed obvious to me. But i do sometimes have to put them back in the right pose since they can move out of there position...

I like using chopsticks. It helps you to eat more slowly which is better for you anyway.

Yeah, chopsticks have officially become my substitute for forks.
Which means, I use them every day. I've been using them all the time since my obsession with Asian culture.

I love using chopsticks.

Whenever we have asian food, it's like I have to beg in order to get a set of chopsticks. There's just something obsessive about it.

I've never been able to use them. When I was a kid I used to have this little plastic thing that joined the chopsticks together in the middle and it made them usable, but I've just given up now. I can stab my food with them if that counts.

I used chopsticks enough to not being thinking about them, and how easy or difficult they are to use, or how I might look to others while using them.

My score would be somewhere between "not very good"
and "mastered the art".

I used to practice all the time when I was little, so now I'm halfway decent at it (certainly not a master at it, but I chose that option anyway).

Love using chopsticks when I eat Asian...somehow it just makes the experience that much more enjoyable.

That and it's funny to see everybody else using forks  Especially when they've got a big fat plate full of whatever American food the buffet serves.

Nah, there's a Panda Express at the university, me and my mom were taking care of our college business (financial aid, transcripts, etc), and we were hungry, it was the only place open at that time of day.

BTW, has anyone tried to use the disposable chopsticks that are stuck together at the base? They are a pain in the ass to split apart, but thankfully I got a tip on splitting them from the anime Azumanga Daioh. The trick is to pull them apart gently from the tip, at least according to Osaka (or was it Chiyo-chan? I forgot which character, but apparently if you can pull apart your chopsticks perfectly, you'll have good luck.)

I once went into a Japanese-style restaurant on the spur of the moment and was rather
taken aback to find that the use of chopsticks was taken for granted.
To my pleasant surprise,I found that I was able to use them competently despite never
having used them before !

I cant use a fork half the time, lol, I would end up poking a eye out trying to use them 8O not a great way to loose your eye sight, so if I am ever traveling to a culture that uses them, I will be sure to bring along a fork!! ! sure I will look like a pig shoveling the food in my mouth, but that isnt anything new

I used to work for a Japanese restaurant and they deliberately had knives and forks, but it was surprising the amount of people who really try and fail to use chopsticks... Until the staff go over and ask if they prefer a knife and fork...

I would put my skill to low, I can use them. Only just though
