Do you curse?

I don't say the f word or any other curse word but i do say frak, frak you, frak up etc. And just to be clear do actually use any curse word on this forum ok.

Um....yes. I swear very fluently.

f***, s***, a**, b****, c***, m***** f******, d*******, c*** master...etc...


Some of them aren't even swears technically. Like "Tit-Nose". Or "Donkey Licker". Or "republican".


I don't swear all the time, especially in front of parents, and never in front of grandparents.

Only to myself. The need to swear never seems come up when I'm with someone, other than "bugger" if something goes wrong. I may think to myself "Wow, what an as*hole" or similar insults, though.

Despite the attitude towards swearing, I've always couldn't understand why it was such a bad thing. It's an expression, it doesn't hurt or warp anyone, and it feels good to do it. Besides, blowing it up to a big deal is what gets kids using it excessively.

Recently, it has been proven to relieve pain too.

I swear. Sometime I go into a fit of cursing, where i shout nothing but curse words for a minute or two. Often wondered if it's a form of tourettes.

Sometimes. I keep it secret but sometimes I'll use one around other people.
If I'm in private though! I'll stub my toe and the air turns blue. My mum would be horrified

No, I don't.

I don't swear. I say "drat" and words like that in English and in my home language. There is also a limit to the kinds of words I would use to describe someone whith whom I was displeased. The worst I would probably say is "idiot".

I swear I think people who don't swear are somewhatt sheltered shielded from expression
note I meant to say people that think swearing is wrong you have the right to not swear but I think if you think its wrong just need to sort their priorities there is nothing bad about them they are only an expression of boosted agression, sometimes joy

I used to not swear at all, probably because I was always a rule follower growing up. In high school, I started to and it felt really good. And I haven't stopped.

I do parent swearing. That's when you start to swear, realize your child is nearby and listening eagerly to learn a useful new word, then you have to turn the swear into a not-swear right in the middle. "F...oooey", "Sh......ugar". NT kids have keen ears for their parents swearing. An AS kid with echolalia skills repeats not just the word but memorizes and repeats absolutely everything that lead up to that word. I learned that the hard way.

I didn't curse at all until about age 15, when I entered high school.
Exposure to the wider world of social language quickly saw me swearing up a storm.
I promptly learned what kinds of expressions certain words can convey, and I used them to various effects. Cursing was a paradoxical way of gaining acceptance among some circles, and distancing myself from others.

Today, I think that I've worked curse words so deeply into my vocabulary that they come out in some really inappropriate ways. This is further compounded by my inability to read certain social contexts, so I don't always realize when I make poor choices of words with certain people and situations.

Yes, and I can be very expressive when using curse words to describe something or someone.

My father always told me that swearing was a sign of a poor vocabulary. However, I've been known to use a few curse words. More often, I'll say, f'ing this or that.
