to a thread you started? Obviously for this one it might, otherwise I would not find an answer to my question.

So does it bother you, when you only a get few replies? And if so why? And do you ragard quality better than quantity?

If you would choose, more than one of the above options, please explain why.

It doesn't bother me much if few reply, particularly if they are interesting or thoughtful replies. Anyway, a topic can receive many replies but feel as though the original post is not being considered properly.

However, for some topics I'd like to obtain a broader sample of views and it doesn't happen, which can be boring.

Given how obsessive I can be about my own writing, I know that getting lots of responses to a thread that I post makes me feel validated and understood. I would feel a little upset if no one responded.

This effect is compounded by the fact that WP people are some of the few I actually converse with, so their words tend to mean more to me than some others.

Feedback topic

Any thread i have started has a purpose, and when that purpose is completed, the thread ends.

I have one thread going in Off the Wall, and I often post in it myself, as I like to write without vowels. Other people sometimes do it, and I am happy to read their replies. Many are better at it than I am.

Uhm no it doesn't really matter that much to me. I started a "does anyone else do this" thread a while ago at at first there were NO replies.. I wasn't upset but I started to think I was extremely crazy

Which is ok with me 8)

I always try to think through threads very carefully before posting them, and I don't really post that many, so replies is very good. :D

I voted for the first one. ;) I don't really mind if the topic's popular, but I do like to see at least one reply. ;)

I'm interested in what people have to say in reply rather than numbers..

If I start a thread and no one replies then I feel rejected.

i only ever started one thread here. that was when i first joined, and it was to say "hello" in the "meet and greet" place.
(actually i vaguely remember starting another thread but i do not remember what it was about).

i do not start threads because i am not really inspired to seek reciprocation.
i have been told that i do not start conversations, but merely issue proclamations.

most of what i say that is spontaneous (i.e.: not in response to another persons stimulus) is merely terminal observations.

i say what i have observed in a way that is not inviting of addition by others.

so i do not start threads.

if i did, i would not expect any replies.

 Only after I posted the thread did I realise that it just didn't sound right. I thought about changing, but I thought "hey who's gonna notice?". Obviously you did...

Some people on this forum seemes to be able to get all their threads popular no matter whats the theme of them, just because they themselves are popular as persons....
To me it depends on what is the theme of the thread and what importance it have to me as OP

I can open some random threads about somehting that cross my mind but I can also open threads that have more personal character in need of feedback
Of course those latter threads is more appreciated if they get more replies...
But on the other hand, why should it be important with numbers. I could get one single reply that gives the best feedback I could get or hundreds that nothing helps me out...

So I just try not to think of the ammount of replies. I just appreciate every single reply as long as the thread is not left abandoned without replies...

But I think its a major failure with my presense on this forum as I tend to kill my own threads
Its like people think "there is nothing more to say" after I have returned, so maybe I shouldnt return then :?
