There's a favorite reference book I've had for years abut a topic I really enjoy where the other day someone made a point of pointing out to me that the authors, (now deceased), were gay, and it sounded like he was implying, with a bit of pride in himself, that therefore I shouldn't put any worth in that book.

What is it that gets people that way?

My response
1. No, I didn't know that they were.
2. So?
3. And that has anything to do with anything, how?

That was not a well received response.

Simply, many people think being gay is wrong. That's why they 'get that way.'

Or he may have just been stating a fact that he thought was interesting? ... that would be my motivation for saying it but is not common for NTs.

Gay = different
Different = unknown
Unknown = scary
Scary = dangerous
Dangerous = enemy

Some people are hard wired to attack.

Stop it at scary...

scary=fear
fear=leads to anger.
Anger leads to hate.
Hate leads to suffering,

Y. :P

Actually, there are a few books for which gay authors would be a drawback, particularly married hetro couples relationships guides.... but apart from that, it doesn't really make a difference.

Suffering is survival in pain,
Pain is focused result,
Results are proof,
Proof is truth,
Truth will never exist alone.

elton john was gay. doesn't mean his music was sh***y.
michael jackson may possibly have been gay. and his music wasn't bad either.

sexual orientation doesn't determine anything.

Don’t look at me, I’m still trying to figure out why people watch sports.

P.S. My Wife was just reading over my shoulder and she commented that I shouldn’t write that because I would sound gay.
