Is there a better way to search this forum?

I've looked and looked, and the only search box I see is the Google search box, which is utterly horrible because it provides results in a random fashion. I mean, before I post on a topic, I'd like to know if there has been a recent discussion on it, but when I use the Google search box, it puts threads from years ago first on the list. There's no way to re-order the results, either. Basically, it's useless to me.

I'm on other forums that have both the google search box and their own (invariably cleaner) search box for members. Well, I'm logged in, but I see no other search box. Am I missing something?

I have the same problem...I gave up, we get so many new members here all the time that everyone just makes new threads anyway (sometimes even when a previous thread is still on the first page!!).

I know your problem. I've had similar problems with the search facility, the results aren't very good.

I have asked myself the same many times but never spit it out on the actual forum itself
But my problem havent been the search function
I have never used it until today when I saw this thread and I typed in my special interest and that was only fun to see what came up out of it 8)

anyway, I use to have problems to find the topics I previously have attended
If there is some days in between and I want to return to it its impossible to find it
Because I dont always remember what specific topic I saw it and when ticking the "check my posts" its that list that comes up that gives me the problem
because the topics I have attended tend to show up in a real mess with a very old thread next to a new one and I use to end up not finding the thread I want
